Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Community Engagement, the the Development Operations and Financial Reporting Manager supports the accurate Processing, reconciliation, analysis, and reporting of philanthropic revenue. The position shares responsibility for daily gift processing, donor record maintenance, financial recording, and mailing-list production.The manager serves as the department’s primary resource for complex financial and fundraising reporting and as an advanced technical resource for Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXY. The position also leads database-integrity initiatives and conducts limited donor and prospect research.EducationBachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business, marketing, or healthcare management.Experience3-5 years of experience in donor stewardship, data analysis and processing, fundraising operations, or a related development role, preferably a healthcare development setting.Accounting background preferred.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrategic thinking and project management expertise to oversee and execute donor stewardship initiatives with analytical support.Advanced proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft office software.Strong proficiency in Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud NXT (cloud-based), Classy, Research Point, and Omatic.Strong understanding of fund accounting and IRS regulations related to charitable giving.Experience in high-level reporting and data analysis to support foundation initiatives.Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills.Outstanding oral and written communication.Personable, comfortable dealing with donors, hospital leadership, and philanthropy team.Knowledge and appreciation for the importance of donor recognition at all gifting levels.Licensures, CertificationsCompleted certification in Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge Fundamentals training course.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesDonor Data Analytics & Financial OversightManage daily gift processing and financial reconciliation within the donor database, ensuring accuracy and preparation of daily financial deposits and daily financial batches.Manage and maintain online donations received through Classy using ImportOmatic. Successfully complete manual or electronic download of financial contributions and donor information. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues.Manage donor analytics and reporting, providing insights on donor trends, giving patterns, and fundraising performance.Lead the analysis of donor data to identify trends, inform strategies, and enhance fundraising performance. Provide customized reports and data to support development initiatives. Provide donor rating reports to directors to assist in prospect strategy and fundraising initiatives.Communicate daily gift activity to Foundation staff; prepare periodic annual gift program and Founder’s Club and Virginia Sherwood Council progress reports; help Director of Annual Gifts analyze mailings; prepare annual gifting lists for all gift levels; prepare lists for installation of donors into the Joseph S. Keelty and 1965 cumulative gifting societies.Serve as primary contact with the Finance Department to prepare month-end reports so that GBMC Finance can create journal entries to report all philanthropic giving and related fund activity. This includes preparing and submitting financial reconciliation report, providing President/CEO with the HealthCare Dollars raised report, and updating critical dashboard, including the monthly dashboard used during board meetings and the SDP dashboard.Serve as department lead in routine auditing process by providing documentation to GBMC Finance and external auditors in regard to Foundation revenue.Oversee the documentation and tracking of all temporary restricted and permanent endowment funds, ensuring compliance with donor intent and financial regulations.Produce reports and reminders for all pledges to capital campaigns, annual, major and principal gifts.Manage and oversee credit card transactions using SwipeSimple, ensuring accuracy and secure payment handling.Maintain and disseminate pertinent donor-related information, including obituaries and other relevant updates, to the team for awareness and stewardship opportunities. Routinely review the database for duplicate records, incomplete information, inconsistent coding, and other data-quality issues; coordinate and implement necessary corrections.Manage user access, security roles, system settings, and other administrative functions within Raiser’s Edge NXT.Serve as the primary contact with Blackbaud support, troubleshooting system issues and coordinating their resolution.Develop and maintain written procedures, data dictionaries, report definitions, gift-processing protocols, and other system documentation.Provide Raiser’s Edge NXT guidance and training to Foundation staff and promote consistent use of established data standards.Organizational Leadership & Project ManagementFunction as a Blackbaud Super-User. Serve as the primary support contact for the department regarding any issues with Blackbaud systems, including troubleshooting, problem resolution and liaising with Blackbaud support as needed.Proactively keep directors and leadership informed, ensuring key initiatives, and deadlines remain on track through strategic communication and follow-up.Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate routine work, strengthen data integrity, and improve reporting capabilities.Collaborate with Information Technology, Finance, Blackbaud, and other vendors to troubleshoot system, integration, and data issues.Ability to identify discrepancies, research their causes, and carry issues through to resolution.Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.All roles must demonstrate GBMC Values:RespectI will treat everyone with courtesy.
