Job description

BFS Associates is recruiting for a Financial Reporting Associate in the Stoneham area. The position is responsible for maintaining the records for multiple fund entities on a GAAP basis. In addition, the Financial Reporting Associate is responsible for all financial reporting, including quarterly reviews for investors and annual audited financial statements for certain funds.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain the general ledger for assigned funds, as well as maintaining the cash ledger for other core/value funds.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and work papers to assist in managing the business.
  • Responsible for cash at the fund level including monitoring of balances and wire preparation/review.
  • Calculate and process management fees and reimbursable expenses; reconcile all intercompany accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of lender reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly reviews and annual audited financial statements for investors for multiple funds.
  • Prepare quarterly fair value (investment company) accounting for real estate and debt and dividend income.
  • Prepare quarterly investor capital statements and monthly/quarterly NAV statements.
  • Assist with annual audits and tax requests.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience preferably in public accounting; real estate experience a plus.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of Yardi accounting or another property management software a plus.
  • Solid organizational and communication skills.
