Usually, you work to help a company decide how best to invest its money. In this position, your job duties include working with the accounting department to keep track of finances. You need strong analytical skills, the ability to sift through a large amount of data, and strong mathematical skills. The educational qualifications vary, but often involve a bachelor’s degree in finance planning or statistics. Prior experience with the stock market as a private broker also helps.
