Who We Are Looking For:
Phoenix Tailings is seeking a Financial Analyst with a strong accounting foundation, exceptional financial modeling skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment. This role is critical in building scalable financial processes and driving strategic decision-making through robust financial and economic modeling. Experience in innovative or technology-driven industries is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build comprehensive financial models from the ground up to evaluate business opportunities, assess financial viability, and support strategic planning.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to inform decision-making and assess potential risks.
  • Incorporate economic factors, market trends, and industry dynamics into financial models to enhance accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop and manage financial forecasts, including revenue growth, profitability, and cash flow projections.
  • Support the creation and refinement of long-term financial plans and capital allocation strategies.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate operational plans into detailed financial projections.
  • Provide insights into economic trends and their implications on company performance.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and recommend actionable strategies.
  • Prepare clear and concise presentations and reports to communicate financial data, insights, and recommendations to senior management and investors.
  • Ensure financial data integrity and provide timely updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and modeling, preferably in manufacturing, mining, or technology-driven industries.
  • Expertise in building financial models from scratch using Excel or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and economic concepts.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.

We offer a competitive compensation package that is based on expertise. We also offer the following benefits:
This pay range reflects best estimate for the total cash compensation which includes salary + discretionary bonus for this role. Total package may vary based on experience and qualifications.
Pay Range: $90,000- $130,000 total cash compensation plus equity
