The Financial Systems Manager is a hands-on finance technology leader responsible for the strategy, implementation, governance, and optimization of the Company's financial systems landscape. Serving as the primary liaison between Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Shared Services, and IT, this role provides deep functional and technical expertise in SAP FICO, CO-PA, Product Costing, Controlling, Treasury, Financial Reporting, and integrated third-party applications.

This position requires a highly technical SAP Finance subject matter expert with proven experience leading ERP implementations, systems configurations and integrations, finance transformation initiatives, process redesign, and automation projects within a U.S. manufacturing environment. The Financial Systems Manager is responsible for defining and executing the financial systems roadmap, driving cross functional enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring data integrity and compliance, and delivering scalable technology solutions that improve operational effectiveness and financial performance.

Job Description
  • Serve as the primary business and technical owner for SAP Finance and Controlling applications
  • Lead the design, governance, configuration strategy, and continuous improvement of finance and controlling processes
  • Partner with Finance, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain leaders to ensure SAP solutions support evolving business requirements, manufacturing processes, and reporting needs
  • Provide expertise in manufacturing accounting and costing concepts
  • Develop and execute the Finance Systems roadmap aligned with business objectives, finance transformation initiatives, and operational excellence goals
  • Lead financial systems modernization efforts, upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects while driving continuous process improvement
  • Act as Program Manager for enterprise finance initiatives
  • Manage third-party consulting resources, system integrators, and software vendors
  • Develop project plans, resource requirements, budgets, timelines, risk mitigation plans, and executive-level status reporting
  • Lead the design and support of: Product costing, Standard cost development, Cost center structures, Profitability reporting, Manufacturing KPI reporting
  • Develop and enhance CO-PA reporting to provide actionable visibility into, Customer profitability, Product profitability, Sales channel profitability, Market segment performance, Gross margin analysis
  • Lead the development and optimization of financial reporting and analytics platforms
Education / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressive experience supporting and implementing enterprise Financial Systems
  • 7+ years of hands-on SAP Finance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven success leading full lifecycle SAP implementations, upgrades, integrations, acquisitions, carve-outs, or major finance transformation initiatives
  • Experience managing large-scale cross-functional projects and third-party implementation partners
  • Experience integrating SAP with enterprise applications supporting expense management, banking, tax, collections, reporting, and treasury functions
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and profitability reporting
  • Deep expertise with:

    • CO-PA
    • Product Costing
    • Cost Center Accounting
    • Profit Center Accounting
    • Financial Close Processes
    • Manufacturing Cost Accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • SAP S/4HANA implementation experience
  • SAP FICO certification
  • Artificial Intelligence integration
  • Experience with data warehousing technologies, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Power BI, or similar reporting platforms
  • CPA, CMA, PMP, MBA, or equivalent professional certification; solid understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting requirements is preferred.
  • Experience supporting publicly traded manufacturing companies
  • Experience leading finance transformation, shared services, or process automation initiatives

Compensation Data

Salary Range $130,000 - $160,000
