A Day in the Life
As a Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for producing accurate job-cost accounting reports, monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results, preparing, and reviewing client invoicing and project setup, budgeting activities, and other duties assigned by the Controller. The ideal candidate is a problem solver, both big picture and detailed oriented, focused on identifying opportunities/problems and providing solutions.
The compensation range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000, in addition to an annual bonus (12%), commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location
To thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
Assists the Controller with day-to-day operations of the Accounting/Finance Department)
Job cost accounting for multiple projects
Prepares monthly reports on project status, including budget and forecasting for WIP
Creates and maintains project level accounts and task budgets.
Coordinates with project team on change order tracking and billing.
Project accounting and reconciliation
Work with Project Managers in a variety of disciplines
Review subcontracts, purchase orders and Subcontractor change orders to ensure accurate posting
Ensure that the subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors account balances are correct and reconciled
Project setup, billing terms and contract management
Management of sub-consultants and relevant contracts
Invoice preparation and coordination with Project Managers
Act as liaison between Subcontractors and Project Team and Accounting
Timesheet and expense processing
Maintains confidentiality at all times
Exercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs
Participates in the company's continuous improvement programs and provides support to team efforts
Keeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops
Performs other duties as assigned
Your Expertise and Skills

Bachelors' degree in Accounting (preferably in Architecture/Engineering/Construction Industry
3 years of accounting experience
Familiarity with accounting software (Workday experience is a plus)
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite

Demonstrates accurate judgments about the applicability of project cost accounting, federal cost accounting standards
The ability to monitor, collect, and analyze data
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple tasks
Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Perform additional duties as assigned and/or directed
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Frequently it is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as being able to operate a keyboard which may require firm/strong grasping and repetitive hand control.
There may be occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor of supplies and materials weighing no more than 30 pounds.
Job duties are not hazardous or physically strenuous.
