Esplanade Golf & Country Club, located in Naples, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Director of Financial Management! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Community:
Nestled on 1700 acres just north of Immokalee Road this gated enclave of 1,184 single family homes, condominiums and coach homes brings a touch of the Mediterranean to Southwest Florida with regional-inspired architecture, lush landscaping, serene lakes, and fabulous resort-style amenities.
2026 will be the start of $18 million in renovations, enhancing many aspects of the Club. Beginning with the renovation and outdoor bar expansion at our Culinary Center the improvements will also include the complete renovation of the Bahama Bar, our poolside outdoor dining restaurant, a new snack bar turn- window and additional comfort facilities, as well as four indoor pickleball courts to complement our existing four outdoor courts.
Also, in 2027 there will be our redesigned Rees Jone 18-hole golf course and a complete renovation of the entire practice facility. We also feature a state-of-the-art fitness center and spa, The Culinary Center multifaceted dining facility, our Racquets Areas with 6 tennis courts and 4 pickleball courts, resort-style pools, and lush expansive outdoor space boasting almost one thousand acres of lakes, wetlands, and preserves.
About The Position:
The Director of Financial Management at Esplanade Golf & Country Club plays a crucial strategic and analytical role in the community's long-term financial health. This position conducts financial analysis, coordinating cross-departmental initiatives, and managing special projects that support the club's financial objectives. The role works closely with the Property Controller, who is responsible for the ongoing daily accounting functions including preparing monthly financial statements and reports, ensuring that ongoing financial information is accurate, timely, member-friendly and the information is used to guide decisions related to operating and capital budgets.
The Director of Financial Management is responsible for the Clubs fiscal management and ensuring its long-term fiscal health, including financial planning/analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
As the Director of Financial Management, the position has the Property Controller who oversees the club accounting staff as their direct report while reporting to the General Manager and serves as the staff liaison to Club Treasurer and Finance Committee.
Job Responsibilities
Organizational and Administrative:
  • Implements and adheres to policies and procedures for the Financial Management function, including compliance with all company accounting standards.
  • Assist with policy and procedures updates and compliance with all statute 720 HOA requirements.
  • Provides oversight and recommendations to the Clubs overall investment strategy and long-term goals based on the Clubs mission and vision.
  • Reconciles and audits multiple bank and investment accounts.
  • Partner with the Property Controller to ensure financial information used in reporting and analysis is accurate and timely.
  • With the Property Controller, General Manager and Management Team is responsible for preparing and monitoring annual budgets, reserve allocations, monitoring revenue and expense goals as well as business volume forecasts and financial strategic planning.
  • Lead multi-year financial planning, including capital and reserve projections for a multi-amenity Club environment.
  • Participate in the Long-term Strategic Planning of the property and monitor and coordinate property plans of overall future strategic objectives, including analysis of projected revenue, costs, net income, cash position, cash management, and capital requirement updates, assessments, capital projects, and reserve planning.
  • Updating of Reserve Study/Capital Asset Planning.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Analysis and Reporting:
  • Conduct specialized financial analyses related to operating budgets, departmental performance, reserve studies, dues and assessment modeling, and cost-benefit evaluations.
  • Maintain organized financial records, committee archives, and project documentation.
  • Prepare dashboards, charts, and presentations that translate complex financial data into clear, member-friendly insights.
  • Work closely with the Property Controller, who prepares the monthly financial statements, and interpret results, validate data, and develop additional analysis as needed.
  • Analyze departmental profitability and member utilization trends to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Present with the Property Controller financial statements and supporting schedules that identify actual to budget, variance and over/under based on the plan to the General Manager, Treasurer, Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Produce communications to members regarding financial analysis and outcomes.

Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives:
  • Lead and support major initiatives such as:
    • Capital Asset Management and Capital Asset Requests Processes and Procedures (Capital asset replacement, additions and disposal, and Reserve Study management)
    • Capital improvement planning (clubhouse renovations, golf course upgrades, amenity expansions).
    • Vendor contract evaluations, cost-savings initiatives, and operational efficiency projects.
    • Member experience enhancements with financial or operational implications.
    • Technology and process improvements within finance and operations.
  • Conduct research on HOA best practices, private club financial trends, and industry benchmarks.
  • Manage project timelines, stakeholder communication, and deliverables from concept through completion.
  • Conduct due diligence for large-scale initiatives, including contractor comparisons, feasibility studies, and financial impact modeling.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and six to ten years related experience.
  • Experience in Hospitality Industry, HOA community and/or private clubs
  • Experience in Clubessential-Jonas POS/Accounting software a plus
  • CPA License preferred, not required.
