Job description

Responsibilities
Noblis is seeking a cleared Cyber Capability Developer III - Digital Forensics to support our Law and Enforcement customer in Chantilly VA.
This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing cyber tools that support digital forensics and incident response operations for a federal law enforcement customer. The developer will function as a full-stack engineer building and extending Python-based front-end and back-end capabilities that process diverse data formats encountered during forensic investigations. Work is priority-driven based on operational needs, requiring adaptability and rapid delivery of scripts and functionality to expand the customer's use cases.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Python (Django) on the back end and React (JavaScript) on the front end to support forensic analysis workflows
  • Create new processing capabilities for data formats encountered during investigations
  • Develop scripts and modules that extend the functionality of the existing forensic toolkit
  • Broaden use cases of existing cyber tools to address evolving operational requirements
  • Containerize and deploy functionality using Docker
  • Write automation scripts in Bash and PowerShell to support forensic data processing pipelines
  • Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases that underpin forensic tool data storage and retrieval
  • Collaborate with forensic examiners and incident responders to translate operational needs into development priorities

Required Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.

  • Familiarity with SANS SIFT Workstation tools and forensic analysis workflows
  • Experience with digital forensics tools and techniques (disk imaging, memory analysis, artifact parsing)
  • Exposure to incident response processes and evidence handling in law enforcement contexts
  • Experience with mixed vendor/platform environments (COTS, GOTS, custom tools)
  • Knowledge of forensic data formats (E01, raw images, file system artifacts, registry hives, browser artifacts)

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
