Job description

Veterans Inc. is seeking a strategic, visionary Director of Fund Development to lead our fundraising initiatives. This position is a key member of the Development team and is responsible for the donor database and the processing of all donations. In this role, you will develop, coordinate, and manage prospects, donors, and fundraising events while overseeing all Marketing and Communications tasks for the organization. Your work will directly generate the financial support that empowers our frontline teams to deliver immediate, life-changing resources to our nation's heroes.
This individual would be based out of the 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA location but will be required to travel throughout New England.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:
  • Maintain and update all donor records to ensure strict database integrity.
  • Manage the donation pipeline from initial processing to timely thank-you acknowledgments.
  • Design and launch tailored Individual Giving strategies and fundraising campaigns.
  • Generate customized donor lists, revenue forecasts, and comprehensive giving reports.
  • Establish standard operating procedures, donation policies, and formal log guidelines.
  • Direct the Annual Appeal campaign and produce year-over-year comparative analytics.
  • Nurture a living roster of existing supporters while actively acquiring new donors.
  • Expand outreach locally and nationally to individual, corporate, and foundational donors.
  • Overhaul stewardship systems to elevate donor recognition and customer service.
  • Standardize personalized messaging across letters, emails, texts, and social media platforms.
  • Plan all fundraising events from initial concept design to final budget reconciliation.
  • Oversee event logistics including ticket sales, guest lists, and strict financial monitoring.
  • Supervise the marketing and communications strategy to amplify the organization's brand awareness.
  • Align promotional content across channels to support fundraising goals and event attendance.
  • Ensure consistent, powerful brand messaging across all public-facing development campaigns.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required (Comparable experience considered). CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in fundraising, grant development, and donor relations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing funding through major gifts and corporate partnerships.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a proven ability to design timelines, manage departmental budgets, and oversee complex fundraising events.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and public speaking skills, with the ability to lead marketing strategies and confidently represent the organization nationally.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing high-stakes deadlines, prioritize organizational goals, and guide a team in a fast-paced environment.
