Job Description

The Derivatives Associate works as a member of the Macro Rates Sales team to demonstrate and design derivative pricing, valuation, and risk management solutions for clients. Serves as a back-up and support to assigned senior sales team members. Makes sure that issues are resolved and takes initiative in all areas relating to credit lines, ISDA documentation and trades. Prepares marketing presentations, including current market commentary, discussion of hedging products and applications, and indicative pricing. Participates and contributes to the RFP response process for customer opportunities. Coordinates with credit and legal teams to ensure timely approval and execution of credit lines, ISDA documentation, and trade confirmations. Assists in client execution and idea generation of new interest rate derivative products.

Job location will focus on New York, Chicago, and Charlotte

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Econometrics or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Two to five years of derivatives sales support or related experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Solid understanding of complexities of the derivatives markets

  • Thorough knowledge of fixed income and pricing of derivative applications, including swaps, swaptions, caps, floors, cross currency, and treasury locks.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with ISDA documentation drafting

  • Understanding and knowledge of ISDA terms

  • Ability to work equally well in a team environment and independently, exhibiting initiative, ownership, and flexibility

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex financial concepts into simple terms and actionable steps

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously

Compensation:

  • Compensation will consist of salary and annual discretionary incentive

  • Estimated salary $135,000-$160,000

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $117,725.00 - $138,500.00
