Job description

Our client is a specialist asset management firm with over $14 billion AUM, specialized in income-oriented credit investments in niche and inefficient markets. As a rapidly growing firm of 140-150+ employees, they are seeking a full-time Data Engineer fully onsite out of their Greenwich, CT office. This is for someone really looking to take that next step.

This is a time of high-growth at the firm, having hired many over the past year plus. There is a strong push on their IT initiatives currently. The firm makes high caliber long-term investment hires. They are a heavy automation shop, use technology to their benefit, and are not afraid of using AI to improve.

The right candidate for this opportunity would be an organized, self-motivated resource who is looking to challenge themselves and grow into performing a larger IT role in the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable SQL pipelines for collecting, processing and storing large volumes of financial data using technologies such as Snowflake, dbt and Workato;
  • Write optimized SQL queries and stored procedures for data retrieval and analysis;
  • Manage policies and processes for data governance and data quality;
  • Create and maintain documentation for data process, data lineage and data dictionaries;
  • Build dashboards using visualization tools such a Power BI; and
  • Stay up to date on trends, best practices, and emerging technologies across the data engineering space and integrate into the platform where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated problem-solver with strong relationship building skills
  • Extensive experience in database design and SQL development
  • In-depth understanding of Snowflake architecture, performance tuning and cost optimization strategies
  • Strong familiarity with modern data orchestration tools, preferably dbt, Workato
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and database design principles
  • Experience working with financial data
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
