Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Financial Data Analyst to join our team in our Seattle office.

We offer a hybrid work engagement with three days of remote work, and two days in-office.

This position is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of periodic internal accounting reports, client-driven reports, and specialty reports, as requested, for a broad audience, including attorneys and law firm management. It is expected that the incumbent will exercise strong business judgment in responding to requests for analytics and reporting and provide conclusions based on rigorous analysis. This position is also responsible for data analysis projects in the finance organization and beyond as needed. These projects may be broad and/or open ended in scope and rely on independent judgment to determine the best approach.

On a typical day you will:

  • Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual internal accounting and financial reports using reporting tools - Tableau & SQL
  • Responsible for ongoing survey requests, including partnering with other teams to provide data for surveys
  • Produce specialty reports requested by internal and external clients. Also work with department leaders to scope and deliver analysis requests
  • Identify analytics and reports that can provide value to managers and departments by Managing analysis projects including intake, acquisition, analysis, reporting, and delivery
  • Develop clear and compelling insights from various data and deliver those insights to multiple stakeholders with compelling arguments and professionalism
  • Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual internal accounting and financial reports using a variety of accounting and billing software
  • Partner with practice leaders to determine priority business problems and analysis targets using analytics and judgment
  • Triage issues, reporting demands, and other problems presented to the department and escalate as needed to manager

  • 3+ years in analytical role
  • Bachelor's Degree in data science, accounting, finance or related field
  • Experience with BI tool: Power BI, Tableau, d3, Qlickview, etc.
  • Strong MS Office suite skills
  • Experience with SQL reporting, both in terms of development of SQL statements and report production
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levels of a professional services organization
  • Ability to manage concurrent work streams with a high level of detail
  • Ability to explain complex data financial data in to business partners
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in a law-firm or professional services organization, supporting a multi-office environment, preferred

Washington State

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $93,000 to $97,000 ($47.69 to $49.74 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
