Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting department, including job cost, payroll, contracts, accounts receivable, accounts payable and financial reporting.
What You'll Do
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Monitor project performance, including WIP schedules, backlog, and margin analysis
  • Ability to work with project managers and operations leaders on job costs and job specific requirements
  • Develop and manage budgets, including assisting department heads understand the budget process
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, and audit requirements
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows through improved systems, automation, AI tools, reporting templates, and technology-driven process improvements
  • Prepare and file all Federal and State reports
  • Payroll is processed in-house, the Controller must understand payroll well enough to back up the Field Payroll Specialist and process office payroll.
  • Respond to requests from top level management concerning any aspect of accounting
  • Key partner to the CFO

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
  • Construction or project-based accounting experience required
  • Strong expertise in job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition
  • Hands-on experience with Vista by Viewpoint ERP strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls (public company experience a plus)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
  • Proven ability to lead teams and partner with operations
  • Experience evaluating or implementing financial technologies, automation platforms, business intelligence tools, or AI-enabled solutions is preferred.
