What is the opportunity?

As Manager, Corporate Support Financial Control, you'll lead financial control initiatives that ensure RBC's Corporate Support segment maintains accurate reporting and regulatory compliance. You'll partner with senior leadership to drive process improvements, manage complex accounting assessments, and maintain a strong control environment across the organization.

What will you do?

As a key member of the Financial Control Team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Control, you will:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate and complete financial and regulatory reporting for RBC's Corporate Support segment
  • Review reconciliations and documentation packages to verify sufficient controls substantiate month-end balances
  • Complete and oversee General Ledger Attestations in accordance with enterprise policy

Strategic Projects

  • Lead special projects assigned by senior leadership, including process automation, software capitalization assessments, program impairment reviews, and asset useful life analysis
  • Support the month-end close process by monitoring and reviewing balance sheet and P&L

Control & Compliance

  • Maintain enterprise financial control policies, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) and end-user application controls
  • Proactively identify control weaknesses and recommend solutions; implement new controls where appropriate
  • Review accounting policy issues and work with the Accounting Policy Group to determine appropriate treatments

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have

  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in Financial Services
  • CPA designation (or equivalent accounting credential)
  • Demonstrated experience applying accounting standards to complex transactions
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve control issues
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-directed with strong initiative

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with RBC systems, eGL (enterprise General Ledger), and related financial tools
  • Experience with financial control processes in large organizations
