Salary range (but not limited to):

118,700 - 145,100

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

As a Property & Builders Risk Claims Consultant in our Specialty Lines team, you will handle Wood-Frame construction Builder's Risk claims from our STRIIOR (MGA) distribution channel. In addition to this, you will handle traditional and renewable Energy Commercial Property claims and Equipment Breakdown claims, including those from our Global Network.

What you'll do here:

Investigate and evaluate complex Property, including Builders Risk/Course of Construction, and Equipment Breakdown claims to determine coverage and liability

Conduct thorough and timely investigations, including gathering and analyzing relevant information and documentation

Communicate with policyholders, brokers, and other parties involved in the claims process to gather information and provide updates on the status of claims

Negotiate and settle claims in accordance with company policies and procedures

Attend mediations and trials

Utilize knowledge of insurance contracts and industry standards to determine appropriate coverage and settlement amounts

Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, including documentation of all activities and decisions made

Leverage your expertise in a creative, continuous improvement environment to support a model of best practice operations

Collaborate with other departments and teams within the company to ensure efficient and effective claims handling

Identify and investigate potential fraudulent claims and take appropriate action

Deliver and exceed on all key performance indicators as it relates to loss development, claims leakage control and expense management

Keep up to date with industry trends, changes in laws and regulations

Provide excellent customer service to insureds and brokers, addressing any questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner

Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced claims adjusters on complex or high-value claims

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards

Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills

Represent the company in a professional manner and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
