Job Description:

The Sun Life Health (SLH) business within Sun Life Canada is a leading provider of Group Benefits and Health Solutions. A market leader in the advancement of workplace mental health across Canada, through the introduction of new tools such as Virtual Care and Stress Management and Well-Being program providing members access to mental health and medical specialists 24/7. SLH is seeking a Finance Associate to join its fast-paced and energetic Finance team.
Reporting to the Manager, Audit & Risk, the Finance Associate will support audit and risk activities critical to the Sun Life Health business.

What will you do?

  • Manage internal and external audits, including report preparation.

  • Coordinate and attend internal control walkthrough meetings with relevant individuals from within the business unit and the external auditors.

  • Coordinate and support the quarterly attestation process.

  • Coordinate the write-off process and support reporting.

  • Business continuity planning and disaster recovery.

  • Coordinate access reviews.

  • Support the Financial Controls team as needed.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor's degree. Major/specialization in accounting, finance, or commerce is preferred.

  • Suitable for a new or recent graduate.

  • Understanding of IFRS and SOX controls preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented and flexible to changing priorities and timelines.

  • Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • This role requires Reliability Status Clearance. In addition to a law enforcementinquiry and a credit check, as part of yourapplication, the Government of Canada willask if you lived or travelled outside of Canadafor 6-consecutive months during the last 5years, and you must account for all activitiesduring this time.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
