Financial Aid Associate Director
Rose-HulmanInstitute of Technology invites applications for the position of Financial AidAssociate Director. TheFinancial Aid Associate Director provides strategic leadership and operationaloversight for the administration of federal, state, and institutional financialaid programs. This position is responsible for managing the packaging andawarding of financial aid, ensuring accurate and timely processing of aidapplications, and maintaining compliance with all applicable federal and statelaws, regulations, and institutional policies. The Associate Director overseesthe development, implementation, and monitoring of office procedures andinternal controls; coordinates the preparation and submission of requiredfederal, state, donor, and institutional reports; and supports the delivery ofcomprehensive financial aid information through outreach initiatives forprospective and current students, parents, and campus stakeholders.
TheAssociate Director directs the administration and processing of all federalloan programs and serves as the primary authority for student and parentapplicant data management. Responsibilities include overseeing the import andexport of FAFSA data used to determine eligibility for federal, state, andinstitutional financial aid programs; managing applicant data correctionsresulting from verification activities; coordinating Pell Grant paymentreporting to support institutional reimbursement from the U.S. Department ofEducation; and ensuring the accurate processing, origination, disbursement,reconciliation, and maintenance of all Federal Direct Loan records. This roledevelops and monitors operational procedures to ensure data integrity,regulatory compliance, and efficient service delivery while mitigatinginstitutional risk.
Servingas the System Administrator within the Financial Aid Office, the AssociateDirector manages the financial aid functionality within the Banner studentinformation system and oversees the implementation of system updates,regulatory changes, and enhancements issued by Ellucian, the State of Indiana,and the U.S. Department of Education. The position evaluates businessprocesses, develops system solutions to improve operational effectiveness,maintains data accuracy and security, and serves as a key liaison betweenFinancial Aid, Information Technology, and external agencies regardingsystem-related initiatives and compliance requirements.
TheAssociate Director provides advanced financial aid counseling, guidance, andcustomer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, and externalconstituents. The position interprets complex federal and state regulations,resolves escalated issues, supports policy development and staff training, andassists in the strategic planning and continuous improvement of financial aidoperations. Through leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment tostudent success, the Associate Director helps ensure equitable access tofinancial resources while supporting institutional enrollment and retentiongoals.
Qualifiedcandidates will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and three years offinancial aid office experience. Knowledge of federal/state institutionalfinancial aid regulations and ability to interpret complex regulations andprocedures necessary. Effective customer service orientation/communicationsskills are necessary to present information in one-on-one and small groupsituations to students and parents regarding financial awarding. Must have knowledgeof computer hardware/software and ability to work with automated systems tofacilitate automated financial aid processes.
Preferredcandidates will have five years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of theBanner software system strongly preferred. Analytical skills to accomplishcomplex reconciliation processes strongly desired. Excellent organizationalskills to facilitate receipt and processing of vast amounts of data anddocumentation items are strongly preferred.

Salaryrange is $60,000- $75,000. Salary is competitive. A higher salary maybe negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
