Job description

Finance Assistant

Keisha Lance Bottoms' campaign for Governor of Georgia is hiring a Finance Assistant to join our team for the 2026 cycle. The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated, hardworking, and have experience working on fundraising events from working on a campaign, committee, or PAC.

Duties and Responsibilities:

In 2025, the Finance Assistant will wear many hats and will help with tasks ranging from developing and executing in-state fundraising events, to conducting donor research, assisting with the preparation for the candidate's call time and other tasks as they come up. In 2026 as our team grows, there will be opportunities to move within the finance department as we grow out our teams working with events and call time/donor research.

Below are what some duties and responsibilities for the role could include:

  • Working with the Finance Director to implement a finance plan that achieves and exceeds the campaign's fundraising goals.
  • Assisting with the development and execution of fundraising events, managing internal tracking, drafting and sending invitations, creating invitation universes, staffing events, and more.
  • Assist in staffing the candidate and preparing memos, briefing documents, and other materials for the candidate.
  • Researching prospective donors and preparing for the candidate's call time.
  • Managing the thank you note process.
  • Assist finance and campaign staff with additional duties as needed.
  • Assist with the call time program by prepping calls, prospecting donors, and conducting pledge follow-up.
  • Other duties as assigned, which may grow over the course of the campaign depending on the campaign's needs and employee's demonstrated strengths.

Qualifications:

  • Some fundraising experience on a campaign, committee, or PAC is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NGP, ActBlue, and Google Drive. Experience with Numero is an added bonus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends.
  • Ability to interact with diverse populations.
  • A valid US driver's license, and access to reliable, insured transportation.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA and will involve some travel depending on the campaign's event schedule. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with the position expected to start in September or October.
