Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior Financial Management Analyst/Consultant to support PAE MS / NAVWAR clients in San Diego, CA. This role provides financial management, budgeting, and accounting support to U.S. government clients. The position offers an opportunity to work directly with client stakeholders while collaborating with a team of consultants on financial planning, budgeting, execution, and program management activities.
Key Focus Areas
  • Supporting DoW Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) activities
  • Developing and executing government budgets and annual financial spend plans
  • Conducting account reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Managing financial data across multiple government financial systems
  • Providing financial analysis and recommendations to support client decision-making
  • Supporting budget execution, funding actions, and financial tracking

Responsibilities
  • Enter, maintain, extract, manipulate, and report financial data from multiple financial systems
  • Process vendor funding actions, including required financial data entry, execution, and tracking
  • Prepare account reconciliations and perform financial research to ensure funding accuracy and consistency
  • Extract and analyze financial data from government systems, including Navy ERP (N-ERP)
  • Compile and present financial information through spreadsheets, reports, presentations, and dashboards
  • Prepare and analyze monthly execution and performance reports
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities
  • Respond to ad hoc financial reporting and variance analysis requests from clients
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs, for data analysis and reporting
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and financial insights to stakeholders

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • One to three (1-3) years of financial management, accounting, consulting, or related experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET government security clearance (TS/SCI may be required for specific projects)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with government finance, accounting, consulting, NAVWAR financial systems, or PPBE processes preferred
  • Experience using data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI preferred
