Description

Central Garden & Pet, a billion-dollar Lawn and Garden leader, is seeking a Cost Analyst to join our team in Greenfield, MO. This position is responsible for maintaining our SAP inventory standards, driving cost analytics and reporting, and to be an expert in manufacturing process and reporting. Willingness to dive into understanding consumer products and drive process improvement are key attributes to success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain assigned costing processes as part of yearly cost roll as well as participate in ad hoc costing during the year
• Collaborate and become a business and financial resource to the manufacturing teams through reporting and analysis
• Play an active role in closing the books on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis, including supporting documentation and explanations
• Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information, to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, trends, and other matters impacting the fiscal soundness and effectiveness of the organization
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines, parent company policies, and regulatory requirements (including GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley)
• Work closely with internal or external auditors to provide support for reviews or audits by providing workpapers and analysis/explanations where needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to deal with rapidly changing business priorities
• Independent, self-starter; able to work with minimal direction
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based organization; able to work well with other functional areas
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including usage in financial modeling
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Four-year college degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
