Job Description
Role Overview
The Inventory Control Analyst I supports inventory control activities by collecting and analyzing inventory data, assisting with cycle counts and reconciliations, and preparing routine inventory reports. Tasks are clearly defined and performed using established procedures, systems, and control frameworks. The role collaborates with Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Finance, and IT teams to ensure accurate inventory records and compliance with inventory policies.
The position typically reports to an Inventory Control Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leader.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Data & Analysis Support
Assist with monitoring inventory levels, movements, and transactions
Analyze routine inventory data to identify discrepancies, trends, or anomalies
Support investigation of inventory variances and assist with root-cause identification
Validate data accuracy across inventory and ERP systems
Inventory Control & Reconciliation
Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations
Compare physical counts to system records and document variances
Support resolution of inventory discrepancies under guidance
Maintain inventory records in accordance with established controls and procedures
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare routine inventory reports, dashboards, and variance summaries
Update inventory logs, trackers, and control documentation
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of inventory activities
Support audit readiness by maintaining organized inventory records
Process Adherence & Compliance
Follow inventory control policies, procedures, and internal controls
Support compliance with financial, operational, and audit requirements
Escalate issues outside defined guidelines to supervision
Maintain integrity and confidentiality of inventory and financial data
Collaboration & Learning
Work with warehouse, production, procurement, and finance teams to gather inventory information
Communicate findings and questions clearly to team members and supervisors
Participate in training related to inventory systems, processes, and controls
Build foundational knowledge of inventory management and supply chain operations
Scope & Impact
Impact is limited to assigned inventory analysis and support activities
Work follows defined inventory procedures and is closely reviewed

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations, or related field required
