Job description

Position Title: Financial Analyst

Reports To: AVP Finance

Location: Portage, IN


Overview of Position: Phoenix Global is the premier international provider of steel mill services. The company has been actively adding domestic and international subsidiaries and is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the AVP of Finance for the Northern and Southern Regions. The Financial Analyst will be an integral part of the growing finance and accounting team and will report directly to the AVP of Finance. The incumbent will assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts, financial reports, presentation materials, and provide ad hoc analysis for the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively assist in developing and optimizing the forecasting and reporting models
  • Prepare & standardize reports and projections
  • Identify trends in financial performance, identify risks & opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct quantitative analyses surrounding budgeting, forecasting and analysis to support company-wide objectives
  • Analyze and monitor trends from financial metrics to identify variances
  • Assist in developing finance and business presentations
  • Design reports in the company’s ERP system (Oracle) and consolidation/reporting package (OneStream)
  • Streamline data exchange between systems and sources
  • Document departmental processes
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations

Work Environment:

This job takes place in an office with weekly meetings in a Steel Mill, requiring a sense of high-level safety reverence using the required PPE for the environment.


Physical Demand:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen in potentially noisy indoor and outdoor environments. The employee may be required to stand, walk on both flat and uneven surfaces, and climb stairs.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a concentration in one of the following disciplines: Finance, Financial Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • MBA or other graduate degree in Finance or related field, preferred
  • High degree of proficiency with Excel, including advanced functions
  • Demonstrated success in financial modeling and analysis
  • Experience with Oracle and/or OneStream preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay $100,000 to $115,000 annually based on experience.


Annual performance bonus target 10%.
