POSITION: Accounting Intern DIVISION: Business Affairs REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt PAY: $16.00 per hour Under the supervision of the WXXI Chief Financial Officer this intern will learn about general ledger maintenance, transaction processing, posting journal entries, bank reconciliations, and daily accounting activities. The Accounting Intern experience will include: Learning Opportunities : Transaction Processing: Support accounts payable and receivable, process weekly invoices, and handle expense report preparation. General Ledger Maintenance: Post journal entries, assist with month-end closing procedures, and ensure accurate coding of financial data

Reconciliation & Reporting: Perform bank reconciliations, analyze financial data, and assist in preparing balance sheets and income statements. Administrative Support: Maintain files, perform data entry, and shadow staff members to learn daily accounting activities. .
