Job description

Position: Accounting Intern
Department: Accounting
Reporting to: Accounting Manager
Location: Topeka, KS- Onsite
Overview:
Are you looking to get experience in the world of corporate accounting? This position will give you the ability to work with seasoned accounting professionals and learn the inner workings of a corporate accounting department. Ideal time commitment would be 20-25 hours a week. If you are an individual with great attention to detail, an eagerness to learn and desire to contribute to the team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
This internship is ongoing, not a seasonal or summer internship. It is on-site in our Topeka, KS office and not open to remote work. Additionally, please note that the company does not extend sponsorship opportunities at this time.
What you'll do:
  • Scanning and digitally filing various documents, including but not limited to deposit slips, payment forms, credit card copies/ letters
  • Working with employees to collect credit card receipts and obtain transaction descriptions
  • Review miscellaneous spreadsheets for accuracy and make necessary corrections
  • Assist accounting associates and other finance team members with various tasks and projects as needed
Experience you’ll bring:
  • PC knowledge including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn other systems as necessary
  • Detail oriented, focused on quality in all aspects of your work
  • Professional and articulate written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, but also as a collaborative team member
