Job Overview:
Join our Wealth Advisors Group Team as a Summer Intern, providing essential support to our LPL corporate employee advisors and support professionals. This program is designed to provide comprehensive learning experience in a team-based call center environment that delivers investment advice and guidance over the phone. You'll be challenged with passing the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam while working on key initiatives to help the Wealth Advisors Group deliver a world-class client experience.
The ideal candidate should be local to the Tempe office during the time of the internship and will work on a hybrid schedule. (3 days in the office)
Responsibilities:
  • Shadow financial advisors & the operations team to gain a better understanding of the industry and learn best practices

  • Attend advice delivery training focused on preparation for initial entry as a financial advisor

  • Prepare for and work towards passing the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam

  • Assist with client communication, including scheduling meetings and preparing presentations

  • Report on industry trends, market conditions, and financial regulations to support the team

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving client service processes

  • Support the completion of key IFS projects and initiatives

  • Support the IFS team by participating in client outreach campaigns

  • Provide general administrative support to the Financial Advisors and support professionals

Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate degree program with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028

  • 3.0 GPA Minimum

  • Offer is contingent upon successful background screening and agreement to be local to the Tempe office- Selected candidates will operate out of the office working on a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in office)

Core Competencies:
  • Organization and strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Salesforce (CRM)

  • Goal-oriented mindset with an eagerness to learn.

Preferences:
  • SIE is preferred or strongly encouraged to have completed before start date

  • Telephone service/ client relationship management skills

  • Prior financial tele-sales, trading or call center service experience

  • Previous experience as financial advisor or delivering advice and guidance to retail clients

  • Basic understanding of financial planning concepts, investment markets, and account types

  • Entrepreneurial mind set, self-starter and quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications

  • Ability to assist customers in call center environment while accessing data via multiple PC lookup applications. Must have excellent PC and data input skills

Summer Internship Schedule:
  • Full - time position for 10 weeks in the summer of 2027; Monday through Friday, working 40 hours a week during business operating hours.

  • Internship dates: 6/1/2027 - 8/6/2027
