Job description

Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM) is the largest owner and operator of marinas in the world. We own and/or manage
151 marinas across 24 states, Costa Rica, France, Monaco, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts. As a fast-growing private equity
sponsored company, SHM cultivates a team dynamic of passionate individuals led by the sharpest minds in the industry
in order to serve the vibrant boating community that encompasses the SHM network.
The Finance and Accounting Manager is responsible for the accounting and variance analysis for the assigned region.
This role is expected to take ownership over its responsibilities and drive consistency across all properties in their region
by collaborating with and supporting the RVP. This position is the financial leader for their region and leads by influence.
SHM is growing and as such, this individual must be comfortable with and excited about change. This role suits an
energetic person who can be innovative and flexible. The Finance and Accounting Manager reports to the Assistant
Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

? Serve as the point person for all financial matters for their region
? Identify initiatives to improve processes and financial results
? Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis for the RVP and make recommendations on improvements in operations
? Manage the month-end close process for their region by:
o Ensuring that close deadlines are met (including at the property)
o Preparing accrual, recurring and non-recurring journal entries
o Researching and preparing monthly actual to plan variance analysis and trend/flux analysis
o Reviewing income statement accounts for misclassified items and adjust as required
o Running related month-end close reports for the properties
o Preparing monthly GL/subledger balance sheet reconciliations
? Lead the monthly review meetings with the RVP, GMs and Business Managers within the assigned region
? Assist with the annual budgeting process for the assigned region
? Work closely with various teams in the company (finance, treasury, AP, etc.) to ensure compliance
? Assist with preparing and reviewing internal and external audit requests
? Support group deliverables for management and compliance reporting requirements
? Perform other duties as assigned

Technical and Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance strongly preferred
  • Master's Degree and/or CPA or CPA Candidate, a plus
  • Minimum of five to seven years of progressive accounting experience
  • Financial planning and analysis experience preferred
  • Advanced/in-depth understanding of US GAAP
  • Working knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls
  • Experience working for a publicly traded company or for a CPA firm a plus
  • Experience with automated accounting programs and systems
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with specific proficiency in English
  • Must have auditing skills, with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts
  • Must have a strong reconciliation background
  • Must have experience multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • Any skills considered standard that a Finance & Accounting Manager should possess
