Job description

Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Financial Systems Specialist. The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.

Job Summary: Eaton's Controllership Global Financial Accounting Center of Excellence (GFA CoE) has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Systems Specialist within our General Ledger (GL) team. This role serves as the lead governance and techno-functional specialist for General Ledger processes and financial systems, providing direction for GL system configuration, Multi Org business requirements, subledger accounting governance, and continuous improvement initiatives of the Record to Report (RTR) processes.

The position will lead cross-functional coordination with other Global Controllership workstreams (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, etc.) as well as corporate accounting, operations, IT, and project teams to drive data integrity, process standardization, and governance across Oracle and SAP. What you'll do: Serve as lead finance systems specialist for global finance applications and Global Controllership-managed systems, evaluating and governing changes to configurations, custom objects, processes, localizations, and site/service integrations. Lead RTR General Ledger (GL) functional configuration and partner with IT teams; provide SME guidance to Global Controllership process owners to ensure alignment across workstreams

Own Oracle Plant and Legal Entity master data, including setup, maintenance, and downstream impacts to subledgers, integrations, and reporting. Oversee financial close job scheduling, ensuring timely execution, issue resolution, and compliance with close processes. Mentor junior team members and resolve escalated GL interface and system issues.

Drive continuous improvement through ERP data harmonization, reporting solutions, and analytics to support global and regional controllership teams. Enhance data quality through process improvements, validation controls, and sustainable solutions with RTR teams. Lead identification and resolution of data issues caused by timing differences, duplicate systems, inconsistent data sources, and manual processes across Oracle and SAP environments.

Maintain expertise in Oracle Subledger Accounting to support configuration decisions, troubleshooting, and GL data integrity. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for financial system and data issues. Partner with finance and application owners to improve data quality, process efficiency, and preventive controls.

Develop reporting, analytics, and data query solutions to support business decisions and global process changes. Support internal and external audits by ensuring compliance with system controls, processes, and documentation. Projects Lead project support activities including requirements review, functional design, testing, data validation, SME guidance, and stakeholder communication.

Manage General Ledger acquisition integrations, including entity setup, ERP mapping, and coordination with operations and corporate accounting teams. Lead Global Controllership reviews of divestiture playbooks and assess financial systems impacts. Lead Oracle-to-SAP site migrations, including functional analysis, testing, data validation, issue resolution, and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution. Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting or finance. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.

Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beachwood, OH will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
