What is a finance rotation program?

A Finance Rotation Program is a structured, entry-level program designed to provide broad exposure to various finance functions within a company. Participants rotate through multiple departments such as financial planning, corporate accounting, treasury, and risk management, gaining hands-on experience and developing key financial skills. These programs typically last 1-3 years and are aimed at building well-rounded finance professionals who can take on leadership roles in the future.

What types of departments or functions will I rotate through in a finance rotation program?

Most Finance Rotation Programs offer participants exposure to a variety of core financial functions such as corporate finance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), accounting, internal audit, treasury, and sometimes operations or business strategy. Each rotation typically lasts several months, allowing you to gain hands-on experience and a broad understanding of how different finance teams operate and contribute to a company's success. This structure helps you build a diverse skill set, expand your professional network, and identify the areas you’re most passionate about. Job description

Job Description How does it feel to work on a team driven to make a big impact? Empowering. We believe your career should always be growing. And that's exactly what it will do at BAE Systems as part of our Leadership Development Program (LDP). The LDP is designed to accelerate the development and career of highly-motivated entry-level individuals who aspire to achieve their leadership potential. This is accomplished through challenging and rewarding rotational assignments, technical and leadership training, advanced education, leadership opportunities and exposure, and mentorship. Our Operations employees turn innovative engineering designs into real solutions to meet our customers' needs. From supply chain, to manufacturing and test, Aerospace & Mission Systems offers opportunities to work with technology rarely accessible in other manufacturing firms. You'll hit the ground running with a company truly committed to your growth as you enjoy a special camaraderie on a team dedicated to protecting what really matters. The OLDP is a rotational program with three one-year rotations. You will start at one of our major manufacturing locations: Nashua, NH; Austin, TX; Cedar Rapids, IA; Fort Wayne, IN; Endicott, NY. During the program, you are highly encouraged to relocate annually to one of the above listed sites. As an Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) participant, you will experience: * Rotations: The OLDP is designed to provide a diverse set of experiences through challenging rotational assignments. Rotations will expose participants to different business units, functions, facilities, and managers. * Education: Participants are required to complete a graduate degree on a part-time basis, if not already completed. The school and specific degree (Ex. MBA, master's in engineering, etc.) is left up to the participant, providing it is applicable to the business. BAE Systems provides tuition assistance for this degree. * Mentorship: A mentor is assigned to each OLDP participant to expose them to diverse and challenging experiences, while providing guidance in choosing rotations, career development, and off-program placement. * Training/Conferences: The program seeks to facilitate the growth of an individual's leadership skills through an annual leadership development conference (LDC). This conference provides personalized leadership training as well as an opportunity to network with senior BAE Systems executives and other leadership development program participants across the company. You'll have the opportunity to experience assignments in several operational functions, business areas, and product groups nationwide.
