We have an exciting opportunity within the TMTT Finance Team in Irvine. The Manager, Finance position is responsible for being a finance partner to the TMVR (Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement) therapy and driving planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision support. This role partners with TMVR leadership to lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), long-term strategic planning, monthly forecasts, and financial close processes, while delivering actionable insights on business performance, risks, and opportunities. The ideal candidate brings strong finance experience, business acumen, and a proven ability to influence stakeholders in a fast-paced, growing healthcare organization where Finance is recognized as a strategic thought partner to the TMTT leadership.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Planning & Analysis: Lead financial planning processes, partnering with business leaders to develop, consolidate the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Long-Term Strategic Plan, and monthly forecasts across operating expenses. Advise managers on obtaining necessary resources within budgetary constraints, identifying opportunities, and mitigating risks.
  • Month-End Close & Reporting: Oversee month-end and quarterly close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting. Manage journal entries, review financial measures and balance sheet accruals, and develop business-specific reports.
  • Business Reporting & Variance Analysis:Assess and create complex report data (e.g., month-end matrix reporting, year-over-year sequence reporting, headcount reporting, trend analysis, planned and forecast variance analysis) to identify opportunities for course correction and planning accuracy, including writing justification for variances.
  • Decision Support: Translate financial data into actionable insights through routine reporting and complex ad hoc analyses; proactively identify and communicate key risks, opportunities, and trends impacting performance.
  • Presentations & Influence:Create and deliver high-impact presentations that clearly articulate financial performance, key drivers, and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, propose, and lead initiatives to streamline, standardize, and automate financial processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data integrity, including cross-functional or cross-business-unit efforts.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure financial compliance by applying knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., Sunshine Act, SOX, GAAP financials).
  • Special Projects: Partner with functional leaders to drive strategy execution; lead or support varying special projects for TMVR.

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
  • A minimum of eight years of Accounting/Finance experience (or six years with a Master's degree or equivalent)

  • Experience in financial planning and analysis roles
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Experience presenting to business leaders
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and business operations within a medical device and regulated environment
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • Proven expertise in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint, and related financial systems
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, including high discretion and judgment in decision-making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, influence, and relationship management, with the ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Extensive understanding of the multi-relational impact of the Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow Statement and how journal entries affect each statement
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP and related financial processes and/or systems
  • Understanding of major products and keys to the success of the business (business acumen)
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and a strong focus on results and process improvement
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally across all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams, and to represent the department on projects

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.
For California, the base pay range for this position is $105,000 to $148,000 (highly experienced).
