DFC Insurance Specialist

The DFC Insurance Specialist will be responsible for efficient, timely and accurate processing of total losses and customer insurance coverage to protect DFC collateral. The DFC Insurance Specialist will be required to perform job duties in a manner that ensures timely and accurate submission of required documentation, completion of notes and addition of necessary documentation within the DFC loan management system, and all other activities associated with total losses and customer insurance updates.

The DFC Insurance Specialist reports to the DFC Collateral Supervisor

Compensation Range: $19.50 - $24.05/hr, with a typical starting range of $19.50 - $22.50. Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location. Final compensation will be established through the interview process in accordance with applicable pay equity and transparency laws.

What You'll Do

  • Process insurance policy cancellations and lapse documentation accurately and timely to ensure collection accounts reflect correct coverage status.

  • Establish and maintain insurance coverage tracking systems to ensure ongoing compliance and collateral protection.

  • Contact customers to verify active insurance coverage and educate them on contractual insurance requirements to reduce risk exposure.

  • Confirm insurance claim status and update collection account information to maintain accurate loan documentation.

  • Process Guarantee of Title paperwork in a timely manner to support prompt insurance payments.

  • Educate customers on the total loss process and account responsibilities to drive timely resolution.

  • Contact insurance carriers regularly to verify claim progress and payment status in order to minimize delays.

  • Monitor customer accounts for non-payments related to insurance claims or contract cancellations and take appropriate action.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account information within the DFC loan management system.

What You'll Bring

  • Collections experience preferred

  • Sense of urgency

  • PC skills including knowledge and use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Windows, etc.)
