The Assistant Director of Finance (ADF) is one of two fully cross‑trained, interchangeable senior staff level positions responsible for supporting the Director of Finance in managing all financial operations of a multi‑program human‑services agency with an employee population ~270. Programs Supported: Area Agency on Aging (AAA), Public Transit, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Operations & Accounting A/R, A/P, payroll Oversight

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

Grants, Contracts & Funding Compliance

PACE & Medicaid Financial Management

Public Transit Financial Oversight

Payroll & Benefits Oversight

Audit, Compliance & Internal Controls

Leadership, Cross‑Training & Succession Development


QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

- 3–5+ years progressive accounting/finance experience

- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit/governmental fund accounting

- Experience with grants management and multi‑fund accounting

- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

- High integrity and confidentiality

- Strong communication and leadership skills

- Supervisory experience

Preferred:

- Experience in human services, healthcare, PACE, or public transit

- Experience with federal and state grant compliance

- CPA, CMA, or CGFM
