Multi-Hotel Assistant Director of Finance

Location: Houston, TX

Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 + Bonus & Benefits



Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Multi-Hotel Assistant Director of Finance to support the financial operations of a portfolio of hotels in the Houston market. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality finance professional who thrives in a multi-property environment and has a strong understanding of hotel accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance.


The Assistant Director of Finance will work closely with the Regional/Cluster Director of Finance, General Managers, and hotel leadership teams to ensure financial integrity, strong internal controls, accurate reporting, and achievement of property-level financial objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the financial operations of multiple full-service hotel properties within the portfolio.
  • Oversee and review daily, weekly, and monthly financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, operating reports, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
  • Partner with General Managers and department leaders to identify opportunities to improve profitability, control expenses, and maximize financial performance.
  • Monitor labor costs, departmental expenses, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, long-range planning, reforecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Analyze hotel performance against budget, forecast, prior year, and key operating metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, brand standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review financial data for accuracy and investigate significant variances or unusual activity.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Food & Beverage, Rooms, Sales, Engineering, and other departments to drive financial accountability.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to accounting team members across the portfolio.
  • Assist with capital expenditure tracking and financial analysis of hotel projects.
  • Utilize financial and hospitality systems to develop meaningful reporting and actionable business insights.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive hotel finance/accounting experience, preferably within full-service, luxury, resort, or multi-property environments.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Director of Finance, Assistant Controller, Director of Finance, or similar hospitality finance leadership role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hotel accounting practices and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and expense control.
  • Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
  • Experience with hotel accounting systems and financial software.
  • Ability to manage multiple properties, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner effectively with hotel operations and executive leadership.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and solutions-focused.
