Job description
The Financial Analyst II serves as a key finance partner supporting business operations through financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and decision support. This role is responsible for independently analyzing financial results, identifying trends and risks, and providing actionable insights to business leaders. The Financial Analyst II partners closely with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives while helping drive sound financial decision making.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting.
- Analyze financial performance, variances, trends, and key business drivers.
- Create dashboards and visualizations that effectively communicate financial results and operational performance.
- Support month-end close activities, including variance analysis, accrual support, and commentary preparation.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support business and leadership requests.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Partner with business leaders to develop and maintain departmental budgets and forecasts.
- Own portions of the monthly forecast process and recommend updates based on changing business conditions.
- Consolidate financial information and provide meaningful insights to support planning activities.
- Monitor budget performance and proactively identify opportunities and risks.
- Support annual budget preparation and long-range planning activities.
Business Partnership & Decision Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to evaluate business initiatives, investments, and operational performance.
- Develop financial models to support decision making, scenario planning, and cost-benefit analysis.

- Assist in the development and enhancement of dashboards, reporting tools, and financial systems.
- Support continuous improvement efforts across Finance, Accounting, and business operations.
- Maintain data integrity and ensure consistency across financial reporting platforms.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Operations, IT, and other business teams to gather information and support decision making.
- Build strong working relationships across the organization to improve financial transparency and business performance.
- May provide guidance and knowledge sharing to entry-level analysts and new team members.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years in a related financial analyst role
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business
- Demonstrated financial experience including budgeting, forecasting, planning, analysis, and building financial models.
- Demonstrated strong financial analysis skills
- Self-motivated team player with strong ability work autonomously.
- Good organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; comfortable communicating with and helping to influence various levels of management
- Excellent drive for results and complex problems solving skills coupled with the ability to build strong working relationships
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Advanced Excel skills (including: Subtotaling, Filtering, Data Sort, LookUp Tables, Pivot Tables, Charting) and other MS office applications; ability to model business requirements and prepare "what-if" analysis
