JOB BAND/TITLE: ACCOUNTING/FINANCE ANALYST 2 / ACCOUNTING FINANCE ANALYST
SALARY: $69,668.20 NUMBER OF POSITIONS: ONE (1)
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under the close supervision of a Supervising Accounting/Finance Analyst in the Financial Evaluation Unit, perform the preparation of highly technical analyses and/or reports that evaluate the financial condition, operating performance and financial projections of casino licensees and related companies and economic conditions under Casino Control Act ("Act") Section 82e (undue economic concentration), Section 84 (financial stability), and Section 87 (casino license applicants). Perform the certification and review of casino parking fee revenue in accordance with Section 173.5 of the Act. Perform the evaluation, summarization, and maintenance of financial information. Review financial reports for statutory compliance and accuracy. Perform reviews of casino parking fee revenue. As assigned, assist with the intake and analysis of applications for casino key employee licenses; comprehend all application and eligibility requirements; communicate effectively and courteously with applicants. Establish and maintain electronic and physical records and files. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or finance, including or supplemented by a minimum of 21 credit hours in any combination of accounting, statistics, finance, or economics subjects.
Note: No education substitution. Degrees and/or transcripts are required of candidates selected for interviews and, if issued by a college or university outside of the United States, must include an evaluation for accreditation by a reputable evaluation service acceptable to the Commission at the applicant's expense.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years of professional accounting, financial analysis or auditing experience. Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications. Proficiency in the use of other software applications and Internet research may be required.
Substitution: Possession of a valid Certified Public Accountant license issued by the NJ State Board of Accountancy and/or a master's degree in accounting, finance or business administration may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
