JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to support our fiber construction operations in the Palmdale area. This role is responsible for ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of underground fiber construction, including I&M installs and Stage 1, 2, and 3 fiber placements.

The ideal candidate will have strong telecom construction knowledge, experience with underground fiber installations, and the ability to identify quality issues in the field while maintaining accurate documentation and communication with project teams..

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform field quality inspections for underground fiber construction and installation projects
  • Verify work is completed according to company standards, customer specifications, and project requirements
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections throughout project phases
  • Inspect fiber placement, conduit installation, chambers/vaults, wall mount boxes, OMTs/modems, restoration work, and material installations
  • Monitor workmanship quality and completion of assigned workloads
  • Identify, document, and report quality deficiencies or non-compliance issues
  • Assist with corrective actions to ensure deficiencies are resolved promptly
  • Maintain daily inspection reports, punch lists, quality logs, and photo documentation
  • Submit inspection updates and documentation to project management and designated personnel
  • Communicate with field crews, supervisors, and management regarding quality expectations and project standards
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by helping identify recurring field issues and recommending process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, client expectations, and safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in quality control within telecom, utility, or underground construction environments
  • Strong understanding of underground fiber optic construction practices
  • Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) experience preferred
  • Experience with conduit systems, chambers/vaults, restoration, and material installations
  • Micro trench experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with wall mount boxes, OMTs, modems, and fiber placement practices
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and project specifications
  • Computer proficiency required, including: Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in field environments
  • Valid driver’s license
