Description

 Feed Mill feed truck driver (2nd Shift)AMVC - Hamlin TITLE:Feed Mill truck driver REPORTS TO: Feed Mill Manager 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable transportation and delivery of manufactured feed and other feed products. Brand new automatic trucks will be provided. Responsibilities will include transportation and delivery according to specifications, understanding of HACCP requirements, and guidelines including the importance of SOP's and Biosecurity. Other duties include quality control, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and customer service. This position will also assist the Mill Operator with daily operations as needed. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: 

  • Operate a company-owned feed truck to deliver feed from the feed mill to production facilities and other destinations. 
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment daily and document checks. 
  • Unload feed at the correct destination and correct bin 
  • Complete and maintain required paperwork accurately and promptly (electronic logs, scale tickets, physical forms, etc.) 
  • Safely perform all duties and comply with all company safety policies. 
  • Comply with all biosecurity rules. 
  • Report truck and equipment maintenance issues immediately to your direct supervisor, and schedule preventative maintenance with the mill manager on a routine basis 
  • Report any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage immediately to the mill manager. 
  • Comply with DOT rules and regulations. 
  • Ensure the interior and exterior of the truck remain as clean as conditions allow. 
  • Perform cleaning duties listed out in standard work and as requested by the supervisor,  
  • Maintains and ensures the safety of all employees and assets of the company. 
  • Maintains and ensures the orderliness and housekeeping of all areas of the feed mill. 
  • Responsible for following all environmental laws. 
  • Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor. 
  • Performs other duties as defined by manager/shift supervisor. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • 1 year of driving experience preferred but may be willing to train the right individual. 
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Able to read and speak English. 
  • Minimal computer skills. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude a plus. 
  • Ability to handle "on the road" situations that develop from time to time (mud, snow, ice) 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Must be able to frequently climb over, under, and around feed mill areas and on trucks and bins. 
  • Must be able to walk and stand on concrete and unpaved areas for longer periods. 
  • Must be able to lift up 50 lbs. 
  • Must be willing to learn and perform the different areas of the feed mill process. 
  • Must be able to work with and around a wide range of chemicals and different feed ingredients. 
  • Ability to work at 15' heights and climb ladders occasionally 
  • Will work in wet and/or humid conditions, and around fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and cold. 
  • Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment.

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Schedule:2nd shift and will end as a Monday-Friday position starting at 4:00 pm and ending between 12:00 am and 2:00 am.? However, the schedule will be fluid as the mill evolves and work demand increases.
