Quality Inspector Summary: The ideal candidate for the Quality Inspector role will be responsible for ensuring that products meet specified quality standards before they are distributed to customers by performing mechanical and visual receiving shipping inspection on hardware, fasteners, fabrications, and electrical products within all degrees of complexity. This position can be fast-paced and requires candidates to possess the ability to pay attention to detail. This position will report to the Quality Control Manager will be able to perform the following tasks:


  • Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking product against the packing list.
  • Documents, tags, controls, and segregates product in accordance with established procedures.
  • Uses controlled stamp to indicate product acceptance and certificate accuracy.
  • Performs AQL sample lot inspections of drawing characteristics
  • Inspects inbound & outbound materials for conformance, and supplier documentation, manufacture/special process certifications
  • Supports internal and external ISO audits to initiate discrepancy reports and hold notices
  • Manages QC equipment for 3rd party calibration and Non-Conforming Material Receipt (NCMR) Cage Management
  • Follows quality processes, ISO facility internal procurement clauses and internal work instructions to review & interpret customer requirements and supplier quality documentation.
  • Scans supplier packing slips, receiving documents and any necessary paperwork into MetaViewer, as needed.
  • Receives material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly, as needed.
  • Assist warehouse and/or production team members, as needed.
  • Processes paperwork regarding UPS shipments including verifying that the merchandise to be shipped is correct, applying the correct UPS postage tape, following customer shipping instructions and ensuring the shipment, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Quality Management.

Quality Inspector Requirements: The Quality Inspector should preferably possess a high school diploma or GED and have a valid driver’s license. The Quality Inspector should preferably possess previous inspection or quality control experience while performing the physical demands associated with a warehouse environment. This includes standing continuously, lifting up to 50lbs unassisted and repetitive use of hands/manual dexterity. The Quality Inspector should possess the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, organize and prioritize tasks to aid in satisfying customer requirements. In addition, the ideal Quality Inspector should preferably possess the following:

  • Associate degree/Trade School (2 yr. min.) in Quality/Material Composition, Non-Destructive testing or equivalent program is preferred.
  • 2-years work experience in Industrial or Distribution environment or equivalent experience, reviewing a variety of commodities to include hardware, fasteners, fabrications, machined and electrical products is preferred.
  • Familiar with interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications, and manufacturing process evaluation is preferred
  • Previous ISO Quality Systems experience is preferred
  • Previous Global Company experience is preferred.
  • Quality Certification is preferred.
  • Statistics training & experience is preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of and application of UL/CE/CSA/IEC/ASTN/ANSI and other relevant Global Regulatory Codes is preferred.
