This position reports to:
Quality Manager
ABB Electrification is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Florence, SC. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing parts, products, and systems sourced from suppliers as well as those produced internally. Your work will be crucial in ensuring that only compliant items are released to the next stage of production and ultimately delivered to our customers.
You will have the opportunity to employ standard test protocols and apply specifications to guarantee the quality of electro-mechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based protective relays, circuit breakers, switches, and various other electronic assemblies within the Electrification Division. Your meticulous attention to detail will play an essential role in meeting production targets while adhering to established health and safety policies, as well as approved manufacturing systems, processes, and procedures.
Your Role:
  • Conducting test protocols, as assigned, to ensure the parts, products, and systems meet specified requirements and customer expectations in incoming, manufacturing, factory test labs, or final inspection quality, as applicable.
  • Supporting quality control needs and activities for supplier quality, production quality, testing, and validation, as applicable in the local organization.
  • Assisting in specific quality-related training, promoting a passion for quality and integrity in all actions, with a focus on result orientation.
  • Reporting quality issues data, ensuring adherence to quality management system at all stages.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience in quality inspection of products and components, managing measurement equipment and drawing interpretation.
  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of SAP QA module and Microsoft tools
  • Knowledge in ISO 9001:2015 and 10 CFR50 Appendix B
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
  • High School degree plus 2 or more years of related experience in a QC role. Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
