Job description

Location: Stratford, CT
Employment Type: Full-Time
To ensure the Company's product meets the requirements and conforms to the established specifications for reliability and workmanship that promote the quality of the end product. Desirable skills include the ability to work as part of a team, problem-solving, attention to detail, and experience working in an ISO 9001 quality environment, a plus.
Responsibilities:
  • Use visual, mechanical, and electrical testing methods and tools to inspect, evaluate, and document all incoming mechanical and electrical products, machined parts, and sub-assemblies
  • Moves inspected material to the proper receiving location (inventory warehouse location, Central inventory cart, chair department, NMR, RI)
  • Work with the Quality Control Inspector to maintain records of testing
  • Responsible for up-to-date filing of QC-related paperwork, drawings, and part samples
  • Provide timely feedback to quality if a non-conforming product is identified, and document all vendor and manufacturing non-conformances.
  • Maintain calibration of equipment and ensure it is safe and well-maintained, and discard any that doesn't meet requirements.
  • Functions as part of the Final QC team, inspecting the final product for shipment
  • Works alongside QC technicians to test electrical chair systems.
  • Miscellaneous work activities as required by the Manager.
  • Backs up the Quality control inspector

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawing specifications, dimensioning, and tolerances.
  • High-level knowledge of measuring instruments, gauges, meters, or measuring devices of a specialized nature
  • Ability to follow quality standards and processes such as ISO 9001/2015
  • Ability to exercise proper judgment to implement changes /fixes to allow for continued production flow
  • Ability to work effectively with groups of people from different disciplines in a cooperative effort
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy are required
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High level of mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in the inspection area

Education/Experience:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience in mechanical and electrical quality inspection required.
  • Basic Computer skills, Excel, and Word knowledge
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
