Job description

Job Title: Quality Inspector

Shift Time: 1st Shift – Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (with potential OT on weekends as business requires)

Pay Rate: $21/hr

Job Summary: The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing first-piece, incoming, in-process, and final inspections and reporting results in a manner that fully describes the component part, subassembly, or finished product as required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain incoming, in-process, and final inspection reports
  • Assist with calibration of inspection equipment
  • Perform random line audits as directed
  • Perform applicable process verification
  • Participate in the maintenance of IATF16949, ISO 9001, and applicable audits and certifications
  • Effectively handle evolving priorities to avoid inspection delays
  • Assist with other duties as required or assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Competent in the use of common measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, thread gages, drop indictors, spring testers and optical equipment etc.
  • Working knowledge of various SPC techniques.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF16949, and PPAP requirements.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational?skills and attention to detail
  • Good math and written communication skills
  • Familiar?with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Efficient time management skills

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent required
  • At least two (2) years of related Manufacturing experience required
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a quality setting
  • Must have prior experience entering data into computer and reading and interpreting reports.

Physical Requirements:

  • Excessive standing, walking, bending, stopping, squatting, sitting, climbing, twisting, repetitive motion.
  • Lifting products, equipment, packages or miscellaneous items up to thirty (30) pounds unassisted and fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
  • Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools
