We are thrilled to begin the opening of Hunã! Hunã is set open in early 2026 in Ann Arbor, MI. Our mission is to set a new a new standard for the cocktail + bar experience in downtown Ann Arbor. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team and help us deliver an extraordinary dining experience.
The key responsibility of the Bartender is to work directly with guests by mixing and serving drink orders. They must follow requirements for age verification and responsible alcohol service. Another aspect of their job involves greeting Guests, providing an in-depth understanding of the menu and beverage offerings, taking food and beverage orders, entering all orders accurately into the point-of-sale system, assisting in efficiently delivering items to Guests, and managing inventory and cleaning bar supplies. Bartenders are the ambassadors of Bar Hunã and are responsible for delivering an exceptional level of service to enhance our Guest experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knowledgeable on the entire concept of Bar Huna and the general tiki experience

  • Able to effectively sell and describe the drinks, the concept and the food to the Guests of Bar Huna

  • Ability to follow Michigan laws and regulations regarding responsible alcohol service, verifying age for all Guests who appear under 30 years old.

  • Mix and serve alcoholic beverages at the request of Guests.

  • Promptly and warmly greet Guests at the bar and bar tables; efficiently take food and beverage orders, following established steps of service.

  • Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintains safe food handling and sanitation standards. Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests.

  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and ingredients. Advises Guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested; accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences. As needed, demonstrates knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.

  • Expert on executing our steps of service. Able to communicate with service assistants to efficiently keep their whole section on pace with their needs.

  • Communicates directly with fellow Front of House and Heart of House Team to ensure that orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.

  • Exhibits exceptional communication skills and demonstrates the ability to get along well with others. Remains flexible and patient when communicating with Guests and fellow Team Members.

  • Collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures.

  • Promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for Guests.

  • Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding company information that is shared.

  • Promptly addresses complaints or issues; relays relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.

  • Ensures that the bar is properly set up before and after the service period; keeps the area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards.

  • Operates various equipment, including telephones, water dispensers, and coffee machines.

  • Works with staff of other departments to perform job duties during regular service and during special events and functions.

  • Continuous cleaning and sanitizing of bar glassware, utensils, and bar equipment.

  • Assist in opening and closing duties as assigned

  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience as a high-volume Bartender

  • Ability to follow recipes and utilize proper tools
