Job Description Senior IT Support Specialist Location: South Houston, TX Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (On-Site) Bonus: Discretionary Annual Bonus About the Opportunity A well-established industrial manufacturing company in the South Houston area is seeking a hands-on Senior IT Support Specialist to serve as the primary technology resource for the organization. This position is ideal for an experienced IT generalist who enjoys owning the entire IT function, solving problems independently, and working directly with end users in a manufacturing environment. With under 150 employees, this role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on day-to-day operations while supporting all aspects of the company's technology infrastructure.

Individuals coming from smaller organizations or MSP environments often excel in this type of position due to their broad technical exposure and self-sufficient approach to troubleshooting. What You'll Do End User & Technical Support Provide advanced desktop and end-user support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Serve as the escalation point for all IT-related incidents and requests.

Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems through hands-on troubleshooting. Support users across office, operational, and manufacturing environments. Windows Environment Administration Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows 11 workstations.

Manage user profiles, operating system updates, application installations, and security settings. Troubleshoot performance issues, software conflicts, and workstation hardware failures. Microsoft Outlook & Productivity Tools Configure and support Microsoft Outlook clients and email profiles.

Troubleshoot mailbox connectivity, synchronization issues, PST/OST files, and profile corruption. Assist users with Microsoft Office applications and productivity-related technologies. Business Application Support Administer and support QuickBooks Enterprise environments, including multi-user access and hosted company files.

Troubleshoot application performance, connectivity, and user access issues. Support FileMaker database applications, including permissions management, connectivity troubleshooting, and user assistance. Infrastructure & Hardware Management Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, and peripheral equipment.

Perform workstation setup and onboarding activities for new employees. Maintain local network connectivity, switches, cabling, and office technology infrastructure. Assist with server room organization and equipment management.

Conference Room & Collaboration Technology Support video conferencing systems, projectors, smart displays, audio equipment, and meeting room technology. Troubleshoot connectivity and presentation-related issues during meetings. Asset Management Track and maintain inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, spare hardware, and accessories.

Coordinate equipment lifecycle planning and replacement schedules. Ensure accurate asset documentation and compliance records. Qualifications Required Experience 5+ years of IT support experience in small-to-medium-sized business environments.

Experience working independently with minimal supervision. Strong background supporting Windows-based desktop environments. Ability to manage multiple priorities while providing excellent customer service.

Technical Skills Advanced troubleshooting experience with Microsoft Windows 11. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook administration and support. Experience supporting QuickBooks Enterprise.

Familiarity with FileMaker database environments. Hands-on experience with desktop hardware, printers, switches, network cabling, and peripheral devices. Understanding of basic networking concepts, workstation deployment, and local infrastructure support.

Preferred Background Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP). Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or similar operational environments. Proven ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar issues and independently drive solutions.

Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, including monitors, computer systems, UPS units, and network hardware. Comfortable working under desks, routing cables, and performing workstation installations. Ability to climb ladders when servicing wireless access points, networking equipment, or other mounted devices.
