Job description

SUMMARY

The position of the Community Relationship Banker at SVB will ensure we succeed in our mission of delighting our customers by providing exceptional, responsive service experiences while fostering connections with the communities we serve. The position will lead the charge in driving customer-centric growth and cultivating meaningful partnerships with individuals and businesses in our communities.

The Community Relationship Banker will work collaboratively with the SVB team to ensure compliance with all SVB policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, while continuously working to advance initiatives that strengthen SVBs role as a trusted financial partner and community leader.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Proactively identify customer needs and deliver creative solutions that drive satisfaction, loyalty, and long- term success.

Develop, execute and monitor community relations strategies that showcase Sauk Valley Banks commitment to strengthening partnerships and supporting local development.

Build and sustain strong relationships internally and externally. Work closely with key decision-makers in organizations and communities to establish trust and foster mutual success.

Spearhead efforts to identify and evaluate community needs, ensuring Sauk Valley Bank develops tailored solutions and meaningful engagement strategies.

Provide strategic guidance and support to Market Presidents to drive business development and strengthen community involvement.

Partner with fellow officers to develop, implement, and market impactful programs, including SBA, ITIN, Financial Literacy initiatives, and more, that empower individuals and organizations alike.

Participate actively in community organizations, events, and initiatives that elevate Sauk Valley Banks presence, reputation, and impact.

Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations while nurturing a culture of accountability and integrity across the team.

Serve as a dedicated ambassador for Sauk Valley Bank, promoting its values and purpose in all business and community activities.

SECONDARY DUTIES

The position of Community Relationship Banker performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The position of Community Relationship Banker is not responsible for the supervision of other employees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

  • Bachelors degree and/or four years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution operations, sales or customer service background.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong knowledge of community and government funding resources.
  • Strong knowledge of general office practices.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
  • Current drivers license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

The incumbent must be able to perform this position safely, without endangering the health or safety to him/her or others.

Salary Range: $20.00 to $35.00 per hour depending on experience
