What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Figure Model, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Figure Model, you need body awareness, the ability to hold poses for extended periods, punctuality, and professionalism, though formal qualifications are not typically required. Familiarity with art studio protocols and experience in modeling for artists are valuable, and some positions may require previous modeling experience or an understanding of anatomy. Patience, reliability, and strong communication skills help models work effectively with artists and instructors. These skills ensure high-quality reference for artists and contribute to productive, respectful studio environments.

What are figure models?

Figure models are individuals who pose for artists, photographers, or art students to help them practice and study the human form. These models may pose nude or clothed, and their work is essential for teaching anatomy, proportion, and movement in art. Figure models must be able to hold poses for extended periods, demonstrate body awareness, and work professionally in a studio environment. What Is the Job of a Figure Model?

A figure model, also known as a nude model or art model, assists art students who are learning to draw the human form. You carry out your duties in an art class, and your responsibilities are to pose nude and remain still as students draw what they see. This form of art is similar to still life drawing but using people as the subject. Figure model positions are usually on a contract basis, paying by the hour or per diem. Each assignment may last between one and several hours, depending on how long the class is and how detailed they need to make their drawings.

What can I expect during a typical figure modeling session, and how should I prepare?

During a typical figure modeling session, you will be asked to hold a variety of poses—both short gestures and longer, sustained ones—while artists draw, paint, or sculpt. Sessions are often held in art studios or classrooms with a relaxed and professional atmosphere. Preparation involves arriving on time, wearing a robe or comfortable clothing for breaks, and being ready for both clothed and nude poses, depending on the assignment. Good communication with the instructor and artists is key, and it's important to stretch beforehand to help maintain poses comfortably.

Job description

Job Summary:
Calero is seeking a Senior Data Product Owner to own and evolve their SaaS Management Platform. This role involves acting as the primary customer advocate, ensuring data accuracy and driving business decisions through collaboration with engineers to deliver effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Own and refine the product backlog, aligning features with business priorities, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
• Translate customer requirements into clearly defined problems, broken down as user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria with clear value focus.
• Drive ruthless value slicing — deliver features in small, high-impact increments to enable early feedback and reduce rework.
• Maintain predictable delivery and transparent road mapping, ensuring alignment between sprint outputs and roadmap commitments.
• Define and validate financial data models, ensuring figures (e.g., allocations, pricing, usage metrics) are accurate, consistent, and actionable.
• Hands-on configuration of automation/integration tools (e.g., Make, n8n, Zapier) to prototype and test data workflows; comfortably read and interpret API specs to validate feasibility.
• Be the deep customer advocate and business user proxy: Deeply understand 'Jobs To Be Done' in contract management, pricing, usage, and allocations.
• Demonstrate and test product capabilities as a business user would, ensuring they solve real problems.
• Lead customer workshops, proof-of-concepts, and pilot programs to capture feedback early.
• Provide evidence to stakeholders that delivered capabilities are fit for business purpose, not just technically complete.
• Define and track KPIs and success metrics for features and releases (e.g., adoption, usage, savings delivered, customer satisfaction).
• Report on performance to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparency on outcomes, risks, and trade-offs.
• Manage scope rigorously to deliver on time and prevent feature creep.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years as a Product Owner in SaaS/B2B environments, ideally with finance-related products involving data modeling, contracts, pricing, usage, etc.
• Experience ensuring financial figures are modeled accurately and deliver business value; comfortable with data quality & analytics.
• Ability to read/interpret REST API documentation and configure basic automation/integration flows (e.g., n8n, Make, Zapier, Workato).
• Expertise in gathering/prioritizing requirements, writing acceptance criteria, and validating against real customer outcomes in data-heavy contexts.
• Proven agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe) with emphasis on predictable, feedback-driven results.
Preferred:
• Bonus: FinOps, ITAM, SaaS financial management, or ERP/accounting integrations (e.g., NetSuite).
Company:
Calero is a provider of Technology Expense Management solutions designed to provide clarity, control, compliance, and cost savings. Founded in 1995, the company is headquartered in Rochester, USA, with a team of 1001-5000 employees. The company is currently Late Stage.
