Summary of Job
Responsible for the supervision and operation of the K.B. Willett Ice Arena.
Position is 10 - 35 hours per week evenings and weekends.
Tasks Routinely Performed
  1. All building activities on and off the ice surface.
  2. All patrons inside the facility and the entire building structure.
  3. All employees and volunteers when Facilities Supervisors are not present.
  4. K.B. Willett policies and procedures outlined in the employee manual.
  5. A neat and clean personal appearance. Always wear the provided jacket when working.
  6. The proper set-up for scheduled activities.
  7. The ice being resurfaced at appropriate times.
  8. Keeping users on schedule.
  9. Being mobile and visible! Walk through the entire building both upstairs and downstairs checking on patrons and staff regularly.
  10. Knowing locker-room assignment schedules.
  11. Filling out the daily Supervisor report form.
  12. Daily cash handling of all staff and cash registers.
  13. Clearing snow, salting entryways, and cleaning facility.
  14. Securing all doors and rooms at closing.
  15. Communicating with supervisors.

Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of the skills, terminology, tools, and materials involved in ice facility maintenance and custodial operations.
  2. Ability to supervise, motivate and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates.
  3. Ability to promote and maintain high morals and enthusiasm.
  4. Experience in the operation and maintenance of a Zamboni or willingness to learn.
  5. Must have and be able to demonstrate good public relation skills.
  6. Must be able to work in cold, damp, hot, or loud conditions.
  7. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
  8. Must be able to bend, twist, squat occasionally for 6-8 hours per day and be able to lift 50-100 pounds.
  9. Ability to read/write and follow verbal and written directions.
  10. Must be able to continuously walk or stand for 4-8 hours.
  11. Must have proficient knowledge of sharpening of both hockey and figure skates or be willing to learn.
