Job Overview
This role builds and evolves the AI-powered design system that supports digital products across Mint Mobile & Ultra Mobile's ecosystem, improving quality, scalability, and consistency through user-centered system design and intelligent automation. The role uses AI-driven workflows to accelerate component creation, streamline maintenance of component libraries, design tokens, and documentation, and improve the efficiency of multi-functional product delivery. Working closely with designers, engineers, and product partners, this position helps drive adoption of cohesive, scalable experiences while advancing AI-enabled design operations across the organization. This role also contributes to defining guidelines for integrating AI into design and development workflows, helping teams work more efficiently while maintaining high standards for usability, accessibility, and brand consistency. Success in this role requires a strong balance of systems thinking, collaboration, innovation, and continuous exploration of emerging AI technologies that enhance the product design lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Use AI tools to accelerate component generation, streamline documentation and workflows, create interactive prototypes to test and iterate on concepts, and deliver functional component solutions to engineering for faster implementation.
  • Lead the development and refinement of design tokens, reusable components, UI patterns, and component architecture to ensure cross-platform design-system consistency, governance, and innovative digital experiences across platforms.
  • Partner with designers, engineers, Experience Design teams, Engineering Enablement Lanes, and the Design System Manager to understand requirements, technical constraints, and implementation workflows while fostering collaboration and streamlining communication between design and engineering teams.
  • Research, build, and contribute to the initial front-end implementation of complex UI patterns, components, and interactive experiences; collaborate with engineering teams to transform prototypes into functional production-ready solutions across applications and teams.
  • Drive design system adoption, consistency, innovation, and implementation workflows; build Figma plugins and contribution processes to improve designer and developer efficiency while promoting forward-thinking approaches to digital capabilities and user experiences.
  • Create technical documentation for tokens, components, patterns, and usage guidelines; host workshops and training sessions to educate designers and engineers on emerging technologies, AI capabilities, Figma component-building guidelines, and scalable contribution workflows. Present complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences while delivering accurate, high-quality work on schedule.

Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Certification in Computer Science, Web Development, or Software Engineering plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience. Other acceptable areas of study include Digital Design, Human-Computer Interaction Design
  • 4-7 years. Related experience in Interaction Design or Front-End development, creating innovative solutions for ecommerce websites and native apps.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • High Proficiency in using AI tools like Claude and Codex to create hi-fidelity interactive prototypes and complex UI patterns.
  • High proficiency in front-end development, including writing, reviewing, and auditing code to validate and optimize AI-generated design system libraries and component implementations.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, modern UI patterns, elements, interactions, responsive web design and accessibility standards.
  • Design and develop adaptable interfaces and components that deliver consistent, accessible, and optimized user experiences across devices, screen sizes, and platforms.
  • Create modular, reusable component systems and patterns that support scalability, maintainability, and efficient collaboration across design and engineering teams.
  • Expertise in Figma, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and Storybook.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to verbally articulate technical details and bridge the communication gap between designers and engineers.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with designers and engineers.
