What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

Figma developers typically do not reach a $300,000 annual salary, as this level is more common in executive roles, specialized software engineers, or senior product managers. High-paying tech roles such as software architects, engineering managers, or senior UX/UI designers with extensive experience and skills in design tools like Figma can approach or exceed this salary range. Achieving such compensation often requires advanced expertise, leadership responsibilities, and working in high-demand industries or companies.

What is a Figma Developer?

A Figma Developer is a professional who specializes in using Figma, a collaborative interface design tool, to create, prototype, and refine user interfaces for web and mobile applications. They often bridge the gap between design and development by turning Figma designs into interactive prototypes or production-ready code. Figma Developers work closely with designers and front-end engineers to ensure design consistency and usability across digital products. Their expertise includes working with Figma's features, plugins, and sometimes integrating Figma assets with development workflows.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Figma Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Figma Developer, you need a strong grasp of UI/UX design principles, proficiency in Figma, and a solid understanding of front-end development languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with design systems, prototyping tools, and version control platforms such as Git is typically required. Collaboration, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for translating design concepts into functional, user-friendly interfaces. These skills ensure high-quality, consistent digital products and smooth collaboration between design and development teams.

How much does a software engineer at Figma make?

Software engineers at Figma typically earn a salary ranging from $100,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and role level. Compensation may also include stock options and benefits, especially for senior positions or specialized skills in UI/UX design and front-end development.

How does a Figma Developer typically collaborate with designers and other team members during a project?

A Figma Developer works closely with designers by translating design prototypes into interactive, production-ready components while ensuring the final product matches the intended user experience. They often participate in design handoff meetings, provide technical feedback, and use Figma's collaborative features to communicate changes and resolve questions in real time. Additionally, they may work alongside front-end developers, product managers, and QA specialists to ensure seamless integration of designs into the development workflow. This role requires strong communication skills and a proactive approach to addressing design and technical challenges.

Guided by our vision, we are leveraging the power of our leading edge technology and focusing on the uniqueness of each individual to create the future of health. As a global-leading health and well-being provider - encompassing physical, mental and financial health - TELUS Health is improving health outcomes for consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, employers and employees.

Join the TELUS Health UX/UI team: a group of dedicated professionals supporting the design of multiple digital products used by our clients across North America. You'll collaborate with Product Managers, developers, and sales teams to create functional, accessible, and easy-to-use interfaces. Your work will directly impact hundreds of thousands of users.
You'll work in a dynamic corporate environment that allows you to juggle multiple projects in parallel, shifting priorities, and varied demands. We're looking for someone who thrives in this diversity; someone who is organized, capable of collaborating effectively with different stakeholders, and able to adapt as needed.
We are pioneers in leveraging artificial intelligence to optimize analysis and delivery. You'll have the opportunity to explore and adopt modern AI tools to enhance your productivity and propose innovations.

What's In It For You

  • A team that values autonomy, resourcefulness, and mutual respect

  • Positive and tangible impact on hundreds of thousands of users across North America

  • Development of your UX design expertise for complex enterprise systems

  • Access to modern tools (Figma, Azure DevOps, AI, etc.) and continuous innovation through artificial intelligence

  • The flexibility of 100% remote work

  • A comprehensive range of benefits (vacation, insurance, retirement plan...)

  • The opportunity to shape our design strategy long-term

What You'll Do

  • Develop user scenarios and user flows based on Product Manager directives

  • Create high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using Figma, adhering to our design system

  • Specify visual details; document design decisions clearly in Azure DevOps (ADO) so developers can implement them precisely

  • Collaborate closely with developers to define the scope of proposed changes and understand technical constraints

  • Adapt solutions to ensure feasibility and technical excellence

  • Work with testing teams to identify visual defects and propose solutions

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the design system; extend, refine, and document new components as they evolve

  • Analyze improvements proposed by the team and evaluate their relevance against the overall design strategy

  • Support the sales team by creating visual concepts to demonstrate the feasibility of ideas to potential clients

  • Occasionally participate in internal presentations or feedback sessions with Product Managers and team leaders

  • Contribute to strategic design decisions for the team's products

What You Bring

Technical Requirements:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a UX/UI Designer

  • Proficiency in Figma - you must be able to design quickly, use components, prototype, and collaborate in real-time

  • Solid understanding of web technologies - practical knowledge of HTML and CSS

  • In-depth knowledge of accessibility best practices - you must understand and apply WCAG 2.1 (Level AA minimum) in your daily work

  • Hands-on experience integrating AI into your work (automating repetitive tasks, increasing productivity, iterating prototypes)

  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) or experience with Agile project management tools

  • Bilingualism in French and English, professional proficiency in both written and spoken communication. This team has a significant French-speaking component.

Assets:
  • Familiarity with Design System philosophy (Atomic Design, Design Tokens)

  • Prior experience in the employee benefits industry

  • Web accessibility certification (e.g., IAAP, WebAIM)

Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional communication skills - Ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical teams

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to navigate between multiple teams with conflicting priorities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proactivity in identifying problems and proposing solutions

  • Strong changement management skills and tolerance for pressure

  • Attention to detail, rigor in documentation, specifications, and quality of deliverables

Intermediate knowledge of English is required because you will on a regular basis interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its international scope.

A bit about us

We're a people-focused, customer-first, purpose-driven team who works together every day to innovate and do good. We improve lives through our technology solutions and foster a culture of innovation that empowers team members to solve complex problems and create remarkable human outcomes in a digital world.

TELUS is proud to foster an inclusive culture that embraces diversity. We are committed to fair employment practices and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment. We offer accommodation for applicants with disabilities, as required, during the recruitment process.

Disclaimer: In accordance with the TELUS Health Solutions Data Center Security Policy, as a condition of employment, all team members whose job functions require they work at a Data Center and/or have access to detailed knowledge of technology related to client service delivery, are subject to a Personnel Security Screening conducted through the Government of Canada.

Note for Quebec candidates: if knowledge of English is required for this position, it is because the team member will be asked, on a regular basis, to interact in English with external or internal parties or to use English applications or software as part of their tasks.

By applying to this role, you understand and agree that your information will be shared with the TELUS Group of Companies' Talent Acquisition team(s) and/or any leader(s) who will be part of the selection process.
