Figma Designer information

What is a Figma Designer?

A Figma Designer is a professional who specializes in using Figma, a collaborative web-based design tool, to create user interfaces, prototypes, and design systems for digital products such as websites and mobile apps. They work closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to visualize concepts, design user experiences, and ensure design consistency. Figma Designers leverage the platform's collaborative features to streamline feedback and iterate designs efficiently. Their expertise includes UI/UX principles, prototyping, and often some knowledge of front-end development.

What is the difference between Figma Designer vs UI Designer?

AspectFigma DesignerUI Designer
Primary FocusCreating interactive prototypes and designing interfaces using FigmaDesigning visual elements and layouts for digital products
Tools & SkillsFigma, prototyping, collaboration featuresAdobe XD, Sketch, visual design, branding
Work EnvironmentCollaborative, often remote, using cloud-based toolsDesign studios, agencies, or in-house teams
Common Industry UsageWeb and app interface design, prototypingVisual design, branding, user interface creation

While both roles involve digital design, a Figma Designer specializes in creating interactive prototypes and interfaces primarily using Figma, emphasizing collaboration and prototyping. A UI Designer focuses on visual aesthetics, branding, and layout design, often using tools like Adobe XD or Sketch. Both roles are essential in product development but differ in their core responsibilities and tools used.

Can a UX designer make 300k?

While some senior UX designers or those with specialized skills and extensive experience can earn salaries approaching or exceeding $300,000, this level of compensation is typically found in high-cost-of-living areas, large companies, or through freelance and consulting work. Most UX designers earn between $70,000 and $150,000 annually, with higher salaries often linked to leadership roles or advanced expertise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Figma Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Figma Designer, you need strong expertise in UI/UX design principles, visual design, and a portfolio demonstrating hands-on experience with digital products. Proficiency in Figma itself, as well as familiarity with design systems, prototyping tools, and sometimes basic front-end technologies, is essential. Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills help you work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. These abilities ensure that designs are not only visually appealing but also user-centered, functional, and efficiently integrated into modern product development workflows.

Is UX a difficult job?

Figma Designers often find UX design challenging because it requires understanding user needs, creating intuitive interfaces, and collaborating with developers and stakeholders. Success in this role depends on skills in design tools, user research, and problem-solving, which can involve a steep learning curve for beginners.

How does a Figma Designer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during a product development cycle?

As a Figma Designer, you will regularly collaborate with product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure cohesive and efficient design implementation. This often involves participating in design sprints, sharing prototypes for feedback, and conducting handoff meetings where detailed design specs are communicated to developers. Figma’s real-time collaboration features make it easy to gather input and iterate quickly, but it also means strong communication and flexibility are key to success. Expect to attend regular stand-ups, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions to align your work with the broader team’s objectives.

Is it hard to get a job at Figma?

Securing a Figma Designer role can be competitive, as it requires strong skills in UI/UX design, proficiency with Figma software, and a solid portfolio. Candidates often need relevant experience, a good understanding of design principles, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Are UX designers still in demand?

UX designers remain in high demand as companies prioritize user experience to stay competitive, especially with the growth of digital products and services. Skills in user research, wireframing, and proficiency with tools like Figma are valuable in this field, and demand is expected to continue as organizations focus on improving customer satisfaction.

Job description

We're looking for a Web Developer and Designer who builds code-based websites using AI coding tools as a core part of their workflow. Claude Code is the primary tool in this role. You will design, build, and ship full websites from concept through launch, combining strong visual design sensibility with the ability to write and ship real code accelerated by AI.
This is not a no-code or template-drag role. You build with code, you design with taste, and you use Claude Code to move faster and build better. If you are a hybrid designer-developer who uses AI to amplify your output rather than replace your judgment, this role is a strong fit.
Why You'll Want to Join
  • You will be paid in USD (bi-monthly: every 15th and 30th)
  • Paid Time Off in accordance with company policy
  • Observance of Holidays per company guidelines
  • 100% remote setup so you can work wherever you're most productive
  • Creative freedom to design, build, and ship complete web experiences
  • Work inside an AI-powered marketing platform where your tools and your output are both cutting edge
What You'll Work On
Design and Concept Development
  • Plan and conceptualize layouts, wireframes, and visual directions aligned with brand strategy and conversion goals
  • Create mockups and component systems in Figma that translate directly into buildable code
  • Maintain a cohesive design language that balances creativity with clarity and performance

Code-Based Website Development
  • Build responsive, high-performing websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with Claude Code as your primary development accelerator
  • Use AI coding tools to write, refactor, debug, and ship code faster without sacrificing quality or design integrity
  • Translate Figma designs into production-ready websites that perform well across devices and browsers
  • Collaborate with content and marketing teams to refine UX, user flows, and conversion performance

Optimization and Delivery
  • Implement SEO and performance best practices across every project
  • Manage project timelines end to end from creative exploration through launch
  • Test and troubleshoot across devices and browsers to ensure a flawless user experience
  • Continuously find ways to use AI tools to improve speed, output quality, and workflow efficiency
What You Bring
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience designing and building full websites with a code-first approach
  • Active daily use of Claude Code or comparable AI coding tools as a primary part of your development workflow
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with the ability to build production-ready sites from scratch
  • Proficiency in Figma for wireframing, component design, and responsive prototyping
  • Strong eye for typography, composition, and conversion-focused design
  • Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines without close supervision
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Webflow or Shopify for projects that call for those platforms
  • Familiarity with e-commerce UX and checkout optimization
  • Understanding of SEO principles and site performance optimization
  • Experience creating animations or interactive web components
How to Apply
Please include:
  1. Your updated resume
  2. A portfolio link showing two to three full websites you have designed and built
  3. A short Loom video (1 to 2 minutes) introducing yourself, walking through a recent project you built using Claude Code or AI coding tools, and explaining how AI fits into your development workflow

Only candidates who submit both a portfolio and Loom video will be moved to the next step of the hiring process.
If you design with taste, build with code, and use Claude Code to ship faster and better than you could without it, this role gives you the creative freedom and the technical environment to do your best work.
