Figma Designer information

What is a Figma Designer?

A Figma Designer is a professional who specializes in using Figma, a collaborative web-based design tool, to create user interfaces, prototypes, and design systems for digital products such as websites and mobile apps. They work closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to visualize concepts, design user experiences, and ensure design consistency. Figma Designers leverage the platform's collaborative features to streamline feedback and iterate designs efficiently. Their expertise includes UI/UX principles, prototyping, and often some knowledge of front-end development.

What is the difference between Figma Designer vs UI Designer?

AspectFigma DesignerUI Designer
Primary FocusCreating interactive prototypes and designing interfaces using FigmaDesigning visual elements and layouts for digital products
Tools & SkillsFigma, prototyping, collaboration featuresAdobe XD, Sketch, visual design, branding
Work EnvironmentCollaborative, often remote, using cloud-based toolsDesign studios, agencies, or in-house teams
Common Industry UsageWeb and app interface design, prototypingVisual design, branding, user interface creation

While both roles involve digital design, a Figma Designer specializes in creating interactive prototypes and interfaces primarily using Figma, emphasizing collaboration and prototyping. A UI Designer focuses on visual aesthetics, branding, and layout design, often using tools like Adobe XD or Sketch. Both roles are essential in product development but differ in their core responsibilities and tools used.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Figma Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Figma Designer, you need strong expertise in UI/UX design principles, visual design, and a portfolio demonstrating hands-on experience with digital products. Proficiency in Figma itself, as well as familiarity with design systems, prototyping tools, and sometimes basic front-end technologies, is essential. Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills help you work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. These abilities ensure that designs are not only visually appealing but also user-centered, functional, and efficiently integrated into modern product development workflows.

How does a Figma Designer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during a product development cycle?

As a Figma Designer, you will regularly collaborate with product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure cohesive and efficient design implementation. This often involves participating in design sprints, sharing prototypes for feedback, and conducting handoff meetings where detailed design specs are communicated to developers. Figma’s real-time collaboration features make it easy to gather input and iterate quickly, but it also means strong communication and flexibility are key to success. Expect to attend regular stand-ups, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions to align your work with the broader team’s objectives.

Job description

Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, Moultrie (www.moultrie.com) is the leader in game feeders and cellular camera innovation, building products used by hunters, property owners, and others for real-time remote monitoring. We take pride in developing deep user understanding, obsessing about the details, and going the extra mile to show our users we love them. Moultrie is customer-driven - hardware, software, marketing, and customer success teams collaborate to deliver a quality user experience.

We are guided by the following principles: Customer Obsession.; Excellence is the Standard.; Bias for Action.; Act Boldly.; Deliver Results.; Hire and Develop the Best.; Be Curious and Learn.; Win as a Team

Job Summary

Most hunters don't trust brands. They tolerate them. This role exists to make Moultrie the exception.

The Senior CX Designer owns the creative quality of every message we send - email, SMS, content cards and in-app - across the full customer journey. Loyalty comes before conversion here. A hunter who trusts what's inside our emails will convert. Your job is to earn that open and keep earning it.

You'll work directly with our lifecycle marketing leader, who owns strategy and writes the briefs. You own the creative execution.

Job Responsibilities

Set the creative bar. Every message - onboarding, activation, retention, reactivation, win-back - should feel like Moultrie at its best. You're the last line of defense on creative quality before it reaches the customer.

Design for the hunter, not the send. Understand who's receiving this message and where they are in their season before you open Figma. Design to that person - their moment, their mindset, their relationship with the brand.

Contribute to concepting. Bring ideas to the brief, not just execution of it. Subject line angles, message hooks, offer framing. You're a creative partner, not a layout service.

Build a system that scales without losing craft. Build and maintain a modular component library for lifecycle messaging including reusable design blocks and patterns that scale that the developer can implement once and reuse everywhere.

Own handoff and QA. Developer-ready Figma specs. Ready to ship saved out assets. Rendering QA across Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, and mobile - including dark mode - before anything hits an inbox.

Evolve the CX design system. Typography, color, iconography, photography direction. Unmistakably Moultrie across every channel.

Job Requirements

You understand what loyalty costs in this category. A hunter who opens every Moultrie email is rare. That trust is built slowly and lost fast. You don't have to be a hunter - but you need to design like you respect one.

You have a point of view on great. You can articulate why one layout earns attention and another doesn't. Your portfolio shows it. Your instinct protects it when schedules get tight.

You've done this before. 4+ years with a meaningful portion in email, lifecycle, or in-app design. Portfolio showing responsive email craft, systems thinking, and consistent execution across digital touchpoints.

You understand how the work builds. You know what responsive email looks like in code. You understand how Braze, Iterable or comparable platforms surface dynamic content - and how design decisions affect what's possible in production.

You ship and you care. Craft isn't a reason to miss deadlines - it's a reason to start earlier.

Essential Job Function
  • Advanced Figma: component libraries, design tokens, prototyping, developer handoff
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign required. After Effects and Lightroom a plus.
  • Responsive email and mobile design: breakpoints, mobile-first layouts, dark mode, cross-client rendering
  • Asana or comparable project management tool
