Job Title: Advanced Math Program (AMP) Teacher โ€“ Grades 3โ€“5

Location: Brave Christian Schools Reports To: Elementary Principal
Employment Type: Part-Time

Position Overview

Brave Christian Schools offers an Advanced Math Program (AMP) designed to challenge and support high-achieving elementary students in mathematics. This accelerated three-year pathway prepares students for advanced middle school math placement and long-term academic success.

The AMP Teacher will lead a fast-track math program in which students complete 3rdโ€“5th grade math standards in two years, advancing to Math 6 (middle school curriculum) in 5th grade.

This role requires a highly skilled mathematics instructor who can:

  • Deliver rigorous, accelerated instruction

  • Maintain high academic standards

  • Support student growth while preserving joy in learning

  • Integrate a biblical worldview into mathematical thinking

Program Structure
  • 3rdโ€“4th Grade: Accelerated mastery of 3rdโ€“5th grade standards

  • 5th Grade: Math 6 (middle school-level curriculum)

  • Pathway potential: Math 7, Pre-Algebra, or Algebra 1 placement

Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum
  • Deliver accelerated, conceptually deep math instruction.

  • Ensure mastery of grade-level and above-grade-level standards.

  • Develop lessons that emphasize:

    • Problem-solving

    • Mathematical reasoning

    • Conceptual understanding

    • Mathematical communication

  • Differentiate within an accelerated classroom.

  • Use data to monitor mastery and readiness for advancement.

Student Assessment & Placement Support
  • Collaborate in administering and reviewing:

    • Placement assessments

    • Math fact fluency assessments

    • STAR Math data

    • IOWA Assessment data

  • Maintain high expectations for student performance.

  • Track student progress and implement watch-quarter support when necessary.

  • Communicate proactively with families regarding progress.

Student Development
  • Foster maturity, responsibility, and resilience in high-achieving students.

  • Maintain strong classroom management aligned with school values.

  • Encourage perseverance and a growth mindset.

Faith Integration
  • Integrate biblical worldview into instruction.

  • Model Christ-centered leadership.

  • Encourage students to use their academic gifts for Godโ€™s glory.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Education or Mathematics-related field.

  • Strong background in upper elementary or middle school mathematics.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach advanced or accelerated learners.

  • Experience using assessment data to drive instruction.

  • Commitment to Christian faith and alignment with school mission.

Preferred

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Education or Mathematics.

  • Experience teaching Math 6, Pre-Algebra, or Algebra 1.

  • Experience developing accelerated curriculum pathway
